For P 3.480M, is the 2021 Subaru Evoltis Worth Its Price?

The official launch of Subaru’s large 7-seater SUV, the 2021 Evoltis is still a month away, but that’s not stopping Motor Image’s own sales department from leaking out the complete specs and pricing.

Before we get to that, it’s worth remembering that all Subaru dealerships across the Philippines are accepting reservations, and the first 50 buyers will actually drive it home with a limited-edition Evoltis watch (check out this link).

As for the price, well, Motor Image will be offering the Evoltis in a single variant—the top-spec Touring EyeSight model. It’s so top-spec that the price is, drum roll, please—P 3.480 million. That makes the Evoltis even more expensive that two of its chief rivals—the Ford Explorer 3.5 AWD Sport (P 3.178 million) and the Mazda CX-9 Signature AWD (P 2.950 million). Heck, it’s even more expensive than the Hyundai Palisade (P 3.240 million) and the Honda Pilot (P 3.380 million)—and those were discontinued due to poor sales.

Anyhow, I’m no product planner—I’m just a motoring journalist so I’m pretty sure there’s some logic to the Evoltis’s pricing. Take a look at the full spec sheet below if you think it justifies the price tag.

  1. Good luck selling this SUV... motor Image Pilipinas.

  2. I think it has something to do with the Evoltis being build in the US

  3. The top of the line Ascent in the US costs about $46k. The P3.4M is equivalent to $70k. I doubt that the $24k difference is due to taxes. Too much mark up.

    1. Subaru Philippines is only selling a few units of it that's why its price is high and the fact that its made in America.

  4. I would rather buy a HONDA Pilot rather than this Subaru Evoltis, sooo expensive

    1. Honda Pilot isn't available in the local market for years as HCPI imported an expensive mid trim level one.

    2. RGame PH, if someone can afford it, who cares, if i can afford it, i would go for it (Unfortunately i can't) even the upper level of Honda Pilot. I've seen Honda Pilot here in Middle East and i really like it

  5. Isn't it you can still order Honda Pilot (indent of course), if that is so, better select Honda Pilot than the Evoltis

  6. Good luck talaga. Given the age of that model and its price tag I'm looking forward to Motor Image giving 500-700k discounts later on.
