Subaru and STI Previews Performance Parts for All-New 2022 BRZ

The Japan-market Subaru BRZ may be just a few days old, but that hasn’t stopped Subaru’s go-fast division, Subaru Technica International, or STI, from working on performance parts for their version of the lightweight rear-wheel drive sportscar.

Officially, these parts are still “under development” according to STI, so there might be some minute changes along the way, but one thing’s for certain: they are track-tested at the Fuji International Speedway as seen when Subaru brought the second-generation BRZ out to play there decked in these parts.

Among the STI performance parts shown is a wrap-around aero kit that adds an STI front under spoiler, a side under spoiler near the rocker panels, and a rear under spoiler. It also appears to sport a lip spoiler, a side vent garnish, and roof-mounted vortex generators. A performance muffler with lower back pressure completes the transformation.

For those who want something a bit more aggressive, it looks like Subaru will be offering a touring-car-style wing made of carbon fiber, complete with a swan-deck design. This can go hand-in-hand with the forged bronze 18-inch wheels.

With Toyota’s Gazoo Racing engaged in a friendly rivalry with Subaru to eke out more performance (and differentiation) between the two sportscars, it’ll be interesting to see what they will come up with in the next few months (remember, the Subaru BRZ will launch first globally).

Subaru is launching the all-new BRZ for the Philippine market towards the latter part of 2021.
