Will You Trade Your Ranger Raptor For The Great Wall Poer Baja Snake?

When they’re not busy ripping off the Volkswagen Beetle, Great Wall can also be found building some rather interesting trucks. Case in point is this—the Great Wall Poer Baja Snake.

The name does sound like a mouthful, and that’s perfect because it’s got the styling to match. Aside from the Shelby-style racing stripes (Shelby was quick to point out that they had nothing to do with the truck), it gets an aggressive looking front clip complete with a porn actor mustache. There are also a lot of “Baja Snake” badging and towards the back, there’s an extra flaring on the bed to give it that aerodynamic look. Inside, the Baja Snake gets lots of suede material.

The questionable styling aside, the Poer Baja Snake does get a snorkel, larger fender flares (to clear those bigger all-terrain tires, of course), and get this, a revised suspension package that lifts it up 51 mm compared to the regular Poer. Plus, it also gets nitrogen-filled Fox Shock Absorbers too with 14 (!) damper stiffness settings, and with that it could be a potential rival to the Ranger Raptor.

Sadly, the folks at Great Wall spent more time on the styling and neglected the powertrain. There’s absolutely nothing changed. Still, the turbocharged 2.0-liter gasoline engine with 190 horsepower and 360 Nm of torque is nothing to scoff at. The gearbox is an 8-speed automatic.

The Great Wall Poer Baja Snake will head to production albeit in limited numbers.
