All-New 2021 Subaru Levorg Is The Safest New Car In Japan


The Japan New Car Assessment Program or JNCAP lauded the all-new Subaru Levorg for its safety, bestowing as the best-rated car tested throughout 2020.

With a 186.91 out of 190 points, the Subaru Levorg earned the highest overall evaluation for the year. It received the “A Rank” evaluation for its collision safety performance and preventive safety performance.

The all-new Levorg now comes with the next-generation Subaru EyeSight tech with 360-degree sensing capability Not only does this offer the usual EyeSight driver assist features such as autonomous emergency braking and adaptive cruise control, but it adds Emergency Lane Keep Assist as well.

An even more advanced version called EyeSight X adds autonomous driving capabilities thanks to the use of 3D high-precision map data. Features here include hands-off assist during traffic jams, active lane change assist, and automatic speed control in curves and toll gates.

Aside from ever-stricter crash safety and driver assist features, the JNCAP now requires vehicles to be equipped with an automatic accident emergency call system. Through its Starlink system, the Subaru Levorg has the required tech.

Subaru will continue to enhance safety through its primary, driving, passive, preventive, and newly-added connected safety technologies under its “all-around safety” principle, which underpins enjoyment and peace of mind for all drivers and passengers. Through these efforts, they aim to achieve zero fatal road accidents among occupants of Subaru vehicles, and people who collide with Subaru vehicles (pedestrians and cyclists included) by 2030.
