Refreshed 2021 Subaru XV Is Seriously Fun At P 1.908M (w/ Specs)

Despite its official launch slated in June, Motor Image Pilipinas has started to display its refreshed 2021 Subaru XV in at least four of its showrooms: Subaru Manila Bay, Subaru BGC, Subaru Greenhills, and Subaru C5 – Pasig. Its authorized dealers nationwide are now accepting orders as well.

Taking on the mantra of “Seriously Fun,” the Subaru XV sports mostly design changes for 2021. These are the new “egg-crate” grille, new front bumper, new front fog lamp housing, and 18-inch alloy design. Also new is the eye-catching Plasma Yellow Pearl color.

In terms of engine, the 2021 Subaru XV retains the 2.0-liter FB20 flat-4 making 156 horsepower and 196 Nm of torque. Mated to a Lineartronic CVT, it reaches the 100 km/h mark (from zero) in 10.4 seconds. As always, Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive is standard.

While the engine and gearbox are unchanged, the refreshed Subaru XV gets a dual-mode X-MODE this year. Along with the usual Intelligent and Sport modes, this enhanced system adds Snow/Dirt and Snow/Mud modes giving it better off-road performance with just the touch of a button.

Also changed for 2021 are the Subaru XV’s coil and dampers which have been optimized for a smoother ride.

Inside, the Subaru XV remains almost unchanged except for the carbon fiber trim which is now finished in a brighter, silvery hue. It also benefits from memory function for its 8-way power driver seat, as well as an upgraded infotainment system. The 8-inch touchscreen system integrates both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and serves as the monitor for its 360-degree camera.

For safety, the 2021 model now comes standard with Subaru EyeSight—the brand’s suite of advanced driver aids. Using a pair of stereoscopic cameras, it bundles adaptive cruise control, lane sway/departure warning, forward collision mitigation, lead vehicle start assist, and pre-collision throttle management. It also gets speed-sensing door locks and auto tilting door mirrors when reversing.

As for variants and pricing, Motor Image Pilipinas brought in just one variant of the 2021 Subaru XV for now, and that’s the top-of-the-line Subaru XV 2.0i-S EyeSight. It is priced at P 1.908 million, although an introductory discount of P 80,000 means pricing has gone down to P 1.828 million. Motor Image Pilipinas is also absorbing the DTI safeguard tariff on the all-new Subaru XV as well.

    1. Yeah. It was a slow death for the Legacy. They offered it solely in 2.5 trim (3.6 was indent) and after a while, they also made the 2.5 indent too.

As for the all-new Legacy, it won't be offered AFAIK. They'll only offer the Outback.
