All-New 2022 Lexus NX Set To Debut On June 12

Mark your calendars: the all-new 2022 Lexus NX will be making its world debut on June 12, 2021.

Lexus hasn’t revealed any official details on its all-new premium compact SUV, but from the sole teaser photo, it’s clear that it’ll be dropping the iconic “L” badge at the back for one that spells out, “Lexus.” It’s part of their new styling direction previewed by the LF-Z Electrified Concept Car.

However, leaked photos suggest that the all-new NX will gain a much sharper styling with a more angular spindle grille upfront and full-width taillights at the back. The NX is also expected to gain a brand-new interior as well with a larger infotainment system and an all-digital gauge cluster.

According to trademark filings, the all-new NX is said to benefit from new or revised powertrains. At the bottom end, the turbocharged 2.0-liter is expected to gain a small power bump from its 235-horsepower output, while the 2.5 hybrid will likely gain better efficiency. The big news is the “NX350h” designation. With that, pundits believe that the Lexus NX will gain a possible plug-in hybrid. If that’s the case, it’ll likely borrow the RAV4 PHEV’s 302-horsepower unit. Of course, if it’s set to borrow the RAV4 PHEV’s powertrain, it will also likely switch over to the modern TNGA underpinnings too.

The current Lexus NX is already long in the tooth, so the global launch of an all-new, second-generation model is timely indeed for it to keep in touch with its German rivals.
