Phoenix Petroleum, Tuason Racing Search For Next Celebrity E-Racer

Phoenix Petroleum and Tuason Racing aims to discover new talents on and off the track with the third year of its Young Driver’s Program – Celebrity Showdown. The e-sports racing program is happening this June and July, and will be streamed live.

With e-sports gaining competition in the Philippines, Phoenix Petroleum wants to be part of the action. Sharing the same young, aggressive, and growing attitude, the homegrown petroleum brand wants to produce winners who can represent and bring pride to the country.

“Phoenix has always been a dynamic Filipino brand eager to empower local talents. As a homegrown business that has become a formidable multi-industry brand, we want to harness our platform and invest resources to replicate in others the same growth that we have achieved,” said Celina Matias, Vice President for Integrated Marketing and Strategies for Phoenix Petroleum. “We’ve been a fervent supporter of the Philippine racing industry, and not even the pandemic has been able to stop us from sustaining this cause. This year is no different as we adapt this project to current realities, while also making it more exciting than before,” she added.

Now on its third year, the Phoenix Pulse Young Driver’s Program aims to search for a new e-sports driver who will represent the Phoenix Pulse Racing Team during the Formula V1 Virtual Cup later this year. The team will also feature a celebrity who will be determined in the Phoenix Pulse Young Driver’s Program – Celebrity Showdown. It will be a web-based reality show that will showcase eight celebrities and influencers as they compete in different challenges.

“The Phoenix Pulse Young Driver’s Program – Celebrity Showdown aims to highlight this new arena of racing in e-sports. We wanted to show through celebrities and influencers what it takes to be an e-sports racer. The skill, the discipline, and the determination needed to be successful,” said JP Tuason, Tuason Racing’s Chief Executive Officer.

The celebrity line-up consists of actor Marco Gumabao, Miss World Philippines 2019 Michelle Dee, actor Joshua Dionisio, influencer Kim Baranda, actor Vitto Marquez, Tiktok star Simon Javier, gamer-streamer Cherizawa, and TV host Patricia Reyes.

Races will be broadcast every Friday starting June 11 at 8 PM. It will be streamed on Phoenix Petroleum’s Facebook and Instagram pages, and on the Limitless app—a digital lifestyle rewards program available for iOS, Android, and Huawei. It will also be shared on Tuason Racing’s Facebook and Instagram pages.
