Ford PH Sales Grew 84 Percent So Far In 2021

Ford Philippines ended the first half of the year with a strong retail performance, with sales growing by 84 percent from last year to 9,855 vehicles led by the Ford Ranger and Ford Territory.

The Ford Ranger was the top-selling Ford vehicle with sales rising 13 percent from a year ago to 4,515 units. The 4x4 pickup segment remained Ford’s sweet spot, with sales reaching 2,588 units, or a 28 percent increase from last year’s sales. The Ranger Raptor continues to drive overall 4x4 sales for the automotive brand.

Meanwhile, the Ford Territory also delivered robust sales in the first half of 2021 and retained its leadership in the small SUV segment. Sales reached 3,323 units, cornering a 56 percent market share in the segment. The Ford Territory also recently reached its 5,000th customer milestone after selling 5,248 units from August 2020 to June 2021.

“The Ranger and Territory’s strong sales in the first half of the year is a testament to its sustained popularity in the market, and we thank our customers for their continued trust and preference towards our pickups and SUVs,” shares Michael Breen, managing director, Ford Philippines.

This year, Ford expanded its 4x4 pickup offerings with the Ranger FX4 MAX last March, followed by the Ranger Wildtrak 4x4 with power roller shutter in June, and the arrival of the limited number Ranger Raptor X this month.

“As we aim to sustain our strong performance in the second half of the year, we remain committed to creating and bringing products and services attuned to the needs and lifestyles of our customers,” adds Breen.
