Quarantine Checkpoints Are Back Starting Today

Five days before the National Capital Region heads back into the strictest form of community quarantine—Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ), the Philippine National Police or PNP has put border controls in the region effective today to ensure that only Authorized Persons Outside of Residence (APOR) can cross borders.

The quarantine control points or QCPs are placed along the borders of NCR-Plus in Cavite, Bulacan, Laguna, and Rizal.

Meanwhile, there won’t be any QCPs inside NCR-Plus.

This means travel into and out of the NCR-Plus bubble will be restricted a week before the actual enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) begins on August 6.

Once ECQ kicks in on midnight of August 6, new restrictions will apply.

Residents of NCR-Plus who went out of town will still be allowed entry after presenting their IDs with a home address inside NCR-Plus. Likewise, those with pandemic task force IDs issued by regulatory agencies, and valid IDs such as company IDs can be used to enter and exit borders.

Unauthorized persons will be barred from passing, and ordered to return to their homes.

Cargo vehicles and delivery trucks will be allowed to travel through borders unimpeded.
