The 2022 Nissan GT-R NISMO Is Sold Out

Revenge spending is in full swing around the world, and European supercars aren’t just the one enjoying the uptick in sales—even Japanese supercars are enjoying brisk business as well.

Case in point is the 2022 Nissan GT-R NISMO. After a global unveiling last April, it took just two months for the carmaker to exceed their entire 2020 sales. Two months after that, they announced that they’ve stopped taking orders. Why? The amount of orders—over 300—exceed the entire model year’s planned production run.

Last June, Nissan said that almost of the 2022 GT-R NISMO cars ordered were in the “Special Edition” configuration. That still remains true with 99 percent of buyers picking this variant. This version can be identified by the exposed carbon fiber hood and unique black-painted 20-inch wheels with red accents. It also carries a 440,000 yen (P 203,105) premium over the regular GT-R NISMO. This bumps its price to 24,640,000 yen (P 11.375 million) in Japan.

In terms of body color, the new NISMO Stealth Gray, a color also available in the 2021 Navara PRO-4X is by far the most favorite. It accounts to 50 percent of total pre-orders.

The 2022 Nissan GT-R NISMO isn’t even for sale in Japan yet. Customer delivers are expected to start in October of this year. No word whether the Philippines will get the latest version, although the “regular” GT-R is still available on a by order basis.
