Just How Fuel Efficient Are Changan Vehicles?

Changan is the first locally available Chinese passenger car brand whose fuel efficiency has been certified by the Automobile Association of the Philippines or AAP.

Each Changan vehicle—the Alsvin, CS35 Plus, and CS75 Plus were all tested for both their urban and highway fuel efficiency. Two runs were made, one purely in the city and the other on the expressway. All vehicles were filled up using 95-octane fuel, while tire pressures were kept at the recommended PSI. Furthermore, the air conditioning was set at medium cool temperature.

The urban route ran from Makati, Pasay City, Manila, and Quezon City, and back covering a GPS-read distance of about 90 kilometers. On the other hand, the highway route started from Balagtas, Bulacan on NLEX to Tarlac City through SCTEX and back covering a GPS-read distance of 180 kilometers.

The Alsvin, fitted with the 1.5-liter normally-aspirated engine and 5-speed dual clutch managed 9.369 km/L in the city and 22.023 km/L on the highway.

Meanwhile, the CS 35 Plus, fitted with a turbocharged 1.4-liter engine with a 7-speed dual clutch automatic achieved 13.548 km/L in the city, and 21.432 km/L on the highway.

Finally, the CS 75 Plus equipped with a turbocharged 1.5-liter with 6-speed torque converter automatic did 8.933 km/L in the city and 17.3 km/L on the highway.

  1. Very impressive CS35 plus fuel economy Run. Infact it's one of top3 List after Geely CoolRay comfort variant and Chery Tiggo7 Pro.
