Nissan Launches Refreshed, Upgraded 2022 Terra With P 1.649M Starting Price (w/ Specs)

Nissan Philippines launches the much-awaited new 2022 Nissan Terra, a premium SUV upgraded to deliver best-in-class safety, entertainment, and versatility. From now, customers can test drive and purchase the 7-seater SUV with a starting price of just P 1.649 million.

The 2022 Terra exterior’s is more robust and impressive. Developed with Nissan’s “unbreakable” design language, it results in a look that’s tough, modern, techy, and elegant. The V-motion grille is now larger and more upright, while the C-shaped LED signature headlamps have been evolved with quad LEDs on each side increasing overall brightness by up to 34 percent. The rear is also re-designed with new tail lamps with a widened LED signature, a sportier rear bumper, a chrome accent at the center, and an updated spoiler design. Complimenting the premium appearance are standard 18-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, the Terra continues to feature a spacious interior curated for passenger comfort. The second-row seats feature a split-fold-sliding mechanism, while the third-row seats have adjustable rakes allowing for increased flexibility. Theater-style seating with remote auto tumble for the second row adds to the convenience.

More than just space, the 2022 Terra also benefits from a wealth of premium enhancements starting with improved cabin materials. A monotone black color scheme is standard on the VE and EL, while a two-tone black-and-burgundy color scheme comes in the VL variants. All variants though get the improved Zero Gravity seats for added support and comfort. At the center is a new 9-inch Nissan Connect infotainment system with Apple CarPlay (wired and wireless) and Android Auto. It also continues with the 11-inch flip down monitor with HDMI input and a segment-first 8-speaker Bose sound system (exclusive to the VL 4x4). USB charging ports (both Type A and Type C) are located throughout all three rows, while at the front, there’s a 15-watt wireless charger.

Mechanically, the new Terra continues unchanged. Under the hood, the 2.5-liter YD25DDTi packs 190 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque mated to either a 6-speed manual or 7-speed automatic. However, new acoustic front glass and added sound insulation makes the overall experience much more refined. Furthermore, a revised steering setup with a quicker ratio provides a balance between effort and comfort.

Meanwhile, the sole VL 4x4 variant features a rotary switch that can shift between two-wheel drive to four-wheel drive seamlessly. A rear locking differential and 4-wheel Active Brake Limited Slip adds to the new Terra’s formidable all-terrain surefootedness.

As always, the Terra comes packed with Nissan Intelligent Mobility or NIM features. Apart from features such as Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Warning, Intelligent Rear View Mirror (camera-based rear view mirror), and Intelligent Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection (360-degree camera), the new Terra adds Intelligent Forward Collision Warning with Intelligent Emergency Braking as well as Rear Cross Traffic Alert. The VL 4x4 also has an Off-road Monitor. A segment-first Intelligent Driver Alertness senses driver fatigue and gives alerts to the driver if a break while the wheel is needed.

The new 2022 Nissan Terra comes standard with a 5-year / 150,000-kilometer warranty. It comes in six colors: Nebula Metallic Red, Forged Metallic Copper, Lunar Metallic Gray, Galaxy Black, Brilliant Silver, and Aspen Pearl White. The prices and variants are as follows:

  1. Yup, the missing headrest and 3 point seatbelt on the middle passenger seat is a strange omission. Circa 1990's once again.

    1. I agree that power tailgate is a missed opportunity here, especially since the feature is available in Thailand. I could live without adaptive cruise control though.

    2. Competitors are selling with adaptive cruise control and powered tailgate, and yet Nissan in its refresh of Terra didn't join the bandwagon, weak selling point i supposed

    3. Adaptive cruise control is overrated, you wont use it 90% of the time, dagdag cost lang yan. The power tailgate however is very helpful.

  5. If the powered tailgate is installed from auto shops, will that void the warranty?

  6. I hope Nissan PH adds the Power Tailgate Option as an Optional Accessory on the Terra VL 4x2 and 4x4 variants.
