Turbocharged 2022 MG ZS Finally Set For October Reveal

After accidentally popping out of their official website last August for a couple of days, MG Philippines is finally revealing the turbocharged ZS SUV this October. For real.

Set for a reveal on the first week of October, the the ZS T will adopt the revamped global styling seen early last year.

Already confirmed via that website leak (the page was since taken down), MG Philippines will use a brand-new 1.3-liter direct injection turbocharged 3-cylinder engine making 162 horsepower and 230 Nm of torque. Coupled to a 6-speed Aisin automatic, MG says it’s good for about 15.15 km/L.

Based on that initial leak, the Philippine spec ZS T will debut a new Trophy variant. The sportiest looking variant in MG’s hierarchy, it will get high-gloss black mirrors, red brake calipers, and two-tone 17-inch alloy wheels.

Possible interior features include sporty two-tone black and red leather seats, a panoramic sunroof, keyless entry with engine push start-stop, and a powered driver’s seat. It will also benefit from improved interior materials and a new floating 10.1-inch infotainment system.

No pricing has been announced yet, but from the grapevine, it is said to be P 1,158,888. Given the substantial price jump over the current ZS, it is very likely that MG Philippines will retain the normally-aspirated variants to help them continue competing in the sub-million-peso small SUV category.

  2. Wow! The MG ZS T is really bringing the fight to the Geely Coolray! Kudos to TCCCI 😊👏👍
Internally though, TCCCI will even have more difficulty in selling the Chevrolet Tracker 😅
