Ford Keeps Mustang Fresh For 2022 With Two Appearance Packages

The Ford Mustang is soldiering on for 2022 by getting a brand-new Stealth Edition Appearance Package and a new California Special with the Performance Package, at least for U.S. market.

The Stealth Edition Appearance Package is available on the 310-horsepower Mustang EcoBoost and adds a more sinister-looking exterior thanks to various black-painted elements. These include 19-inch Ebony Black-painted aluminum wheels, black pony badges, performance rear wing, and black mirror caps. It also gets a new set of clear LED taillights. Inside, it gets a matte/gloss black instrument panel badge and a lighted sill plate.

Meanwhile, Ford is offering its California Special with added performance-related options. The California Special features a blacked-out grille, side racing stripes, and a rear fender scoop. It also wears unique five-spoke 19-inch painted machined wheels.

For better handling, Ford has added Brembo six-piston front brake calipers, a unique chassis tuning with heavy-duty front springs, a larger tubular rear sway bar, an overall lower ride height, K-brace, strut tower brace, front subframe V-brace, a Torsen limited-slip differential, unique stability control, and electric power steering tuning. Power remains courtesy of a normally-aspirated 5.0-liter V8.
