Volvo Cars Hit By Cyberattack, R&D Data Stolen


Volvo Cars is launching an investigation after they found out that one of its file repositories, containing R&D property had been illegally accessed. The Swedish carmaker isn’t saying in detail as to what data had been stolen, but they did say that it may have an impact on the company’s operations.

The carmaker said that after detecting the unauthorized access, they immediately implemented security countermeasures including steps to prevent further access to its property and notified relevant authorities.

Volvo Cars says that with the current available information, they don’t see an impact on the safety or security of its customers’ cars or their personal data.
