Honda Cars PH Launching All-New 2022 HR-V On April 19

Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) will make waves in the auto industry afresh with the all-new, next-generation Honda HR-V. The arrival of the compact crossover is slated this coming April 19, 2022, with 37 dealerships nationwide ready to accept reservations starting April 1, 2022.

The All-New Honda HR-V is engineered to “Heighten your Senses” with the following upgrades:

Stunning looks – Exterior-wise, the All-New Honda HR-V is such a head-turner. Notable design cues of the subcompact crossover include its striking front-end that features a pair of newly shaped headlights and a sporty grille. The rear door handles, on the other hand, are still integrated on the C-pillar for that two-door illusion, at the back, there’s a sloping roofline which gives the HR-V a coupe-inspired look. Lastly, its exterior is then topped off with unified taillights, giving it modern and sleek touch.

Quality-built cabin – Inside, the HR-V goes by a human-centric cabin that’s designed with good ergonomics and treated with quality materials. Convenience features include an infotainment system that’s ready to serve in-car entertainment needs and a new automatic air conditioning with air diffusion. Overall, its interior layout goes by Honda’s ‘man maximum-machine minimum’ principle, where the purpose of technology and design is to serve the needs of the driver and passengers.

Smooth and efficient performance – The Philippine-spec 2022 Honda HR-V will have two engine options. Namely, a 1.5L DOHC i-VTEC engine for the base S variant and a 1.5-liter VTEC Turbo engine for the range-topping V. For that smooth and efficient performance, both powertrains are paired with a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT).

State-of-the-art safety technology – In pursuit of Honda’s 2050 global safety target to realize zero traffic collision fatalities, both variants of the All-New Honda HR-V come with Honda SENSING. This gives the All-New subcompact crossover access to the following safety features:
  • Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS)
  • Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Low-Speed Follow (LSF)
  • Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS)
  • Road Departure Mitigation System with Lane Departure Warning (RDM with LDW)
  • Auto High-Beam (AHB)
  • Lead Car Departure Notification System (LCDN)
The all-new Honda HR-V will be available in two variants, namely, the S CVT and Turbo CVT. Prices range from P 1,300,000 to P 1,600,000. Customers can choose among four colors:
  • Ignite Red Metallic
  • Platinum White Pearl*
  • Premium Opal White Silver (new color; V Turbo CVT only)
  • Meteoroid Gray Metallic
*Platinum White Pearl- Additional P 20,000 *Opal White Silver - Additional P 20,000

  1. It's a shame the e:hev is not coming. I would have registered for a unit if its 1.6M but a hybrid. With gas prices so high now, that turbo doesn't seem to enticing.

  2. HONDA PH, not bringing the e:HEV variant of H-RV is a terrible mistake. You should release a hybrid variant of it.

    1. Totally agree on this. Was looking forward on that.

  3. Finally, Honda Ph bringing in the new HR-V (albeit, sans the HEV variant, and sayonara w sadness to the long-time 1.8 engine).
Curious when Honda Ph will bring in the new BR-V to compete against the new Avanza and the upcoming Xpander.

  4. Wonder how that 1.5l Honda city engine will cope in a crossover body. For the base model, they downgraded the engine but added ADAS features, an interesting alternative to the base corolla cross.

  5. sucks theres no hybrid, all other features should be available then, if not then this maybe worse than the corolla cross

  6. Missed opportunity. Honda should have put 1.5 turbo in all models.

    1. Yeah, just like when the eleventh generation Civic arrived in the PH-market, all variants already came with the 1.5 turbo engine.

  7. I thought Honda PH will put an all Hybrid lineup for HRV but maybe cost is too high and infeasible to sell. Now with just 1.5 ICE NA or Turbocharged, how different can this be over so many 1.5L crossovers in the market. Not unless it will be selling bec it IS a Honda.

    1. IF DTI and NEDA can push for a zero Tariff for EV's (including hybrids) it might be become feasible to get Hybrids and EV's at a significantly cheaper price or at a reasonable price but with a fully loaded feature set.

    2. Hope so. If this will push thru, the P1.6+M cost of the Corolla Cross Hybrid, for example, will significantly decrease. Same w the Nissan Leaf, etc.

    3. Yep. I'm hoping it would either significantly decrease the price (less 30%) or it would significantly improve the feature set of the car without changing the price (same price but more features which typically in our country is stripped out - sunroof, AWD, speakers, ICE, leather seats, engine, etc.)

  8. sa FB dami nag sasabi na ang mahal daw, pero really value wise it gains more tech than the old one and it'll only cost 4k more....Sayang should have tried to bring in the e:HEV variant. Test the waters.....Cause I'm starting to see more Corolla Cross and Altis Hybrids...

    1. Exactly. I think i'm seeing quite some number of hybrids na (mostly from Toyota Corolla Cross) due probably to the real-life fuel consumption especially on traffic.

Hybrids will be highly appreciated in this country due to non-existent electric car infrastructure, and the ridiculous gas prices we currently have now.

Honda should have brought at least one hybrid variant of H-RV. It's kinda bummer.

    2. indeed, it's a shame kasi they're actually one of the first ones to bring in a hybrid here in the country with the CR-Z :/

  9. Putting aside the non-offering of the hybrid variant:
The HR-V turbo variant CAN be considered as a better buy than the Civic RS, considering that they have the same turbo engine and both have Honda Sensing tech, but the HR-V's ground clearance is more suitable to bad roads in our country and is more affordable than the TOTL Civic.
May even be a better buy than the Civic V bec the price diff is only approx. P100K.

  10. Honda is seriously selling this at price pts equal to the Corolla Cross? W/ the Cross having a Hybrid as the premium model? GOod luck honda.

  11. Some competitors of the HR-V:

    Toyota Corolla Cross (hybrid)
    Ford Territory
    Kia Seltos
    Geely Azkarra
    Chery Tiggo 7 Pro
    GAC GS4
    MG HS
    Changan CS75

How will the new HR-V fare against these crossovers? Is the Honda badge enough to compete against them?

  12. A 1.5L Non-Turbo Engine for Honda CR-V 1.3M tag price is a big strategic mistake by Honda. Look at the Car market Crossover competitions crowded by Turbo Charged Engine.

    1. I am a Honda fan, but I have to agree.
The outgoing HR-V has a 1.8 NA engine, and the new NA engine is only 1.5.
Look at the VW T-Cross w NA engine at a price range similar to the Coolray. The VW crossover is simply being overwhelmed by the GCR.

  13. Honda might be too late in into the EV and hybrid market here. why not bring the HRV EHev here.
