Lexus PH Recalling Selected 2022 NX SUVs For Missing Welds

After recalling selected Lexus NX HEV (and Toyota RAV4 HEV) SUVs for its brake actuator software, the carmaker is issuing another recall, but this time, specific only to the Lexus NX. The reason? Missing welds.

According to Lexus, the affected Lexus NX models are part of a global campaign that affects vehicles produced from October 8, 2019 to April 7, 2022. For the Philippine market, they’ve identified a total of 34 units affected. 28 of these units are Lexus NX HEV units produced from November 17, 2021 to January 14, 2022; 6 of these are non-hybrid Lexus NX produced from November 15, 2021 to January 13, 2022.

Toyota has identified that these Lexus NX units may have missing spot welds in either (or both) the front left and front right shock absorber mounting area. Over time, cracks and breakage may occur resulting in the shock absorber to separate from the mounting area resulting in a loss of vehicle stability or a risk of a crash.

To play it safe, Lexus Philippines and several Toyota dealerships nationwide authorized to service Lexus vehicles, will inspect, and if necessary, add welds to reinforce the shock absorber mounting area.

The remedy will be performed at no cost to customers.

    2. Recall is a pro active good/responsible company practice. In US n europe its a regular occurence, even a for slight defect they would immediately issued a recall or else they would be meted a very hefty fine. Here in ph some chinese cars are always stalling but they didnot issued recall n just let dear customers suffer

    3. i also dont understand fanboys, they will go against facts and everything just to defend their brand, i like mazdas but i also acknowledge that some of their models are overpriced and not for everyone.

also, recalls are good but i dont understand why exactly would they miss welds. arent they like, crucial and important.
