Prodrive Is Resurrecting The OG Impreza STI With The P25

Prodrive is doing Subaru won’t be: making a new Impreza STI. Of course, this isn’t based off the current cladded WRX or anything. This one is taking inspiration straight from the OG: the iconic 22B.

25 years since the Impreza made its winning debut at the World Rally Championship or WRC, Prodrive is making an ultra-limited run of the P25. Limited to just, as you guessed it, 25 cars, it uses modern technology to make it more powerful, lighter, and better handling.

Prodrive will use the 2.5-liter flat-4, but this time tuned to produce in excess of 400 horsepower. It also comes with a 6-speed semi-automatic paddle shift gearbox, while its body will extensively use carbon fiber to shed weight.

Peter Stevens, who styled the original Impreza WRC for Prodrive, has defined the design, while the engineering of the car has been overseen by Prodrive technical director, David Lapworth, who was responsible for the original Impreza WRC.

The P25 will be produced all built at Prodrive’s headquarters in Banbury, UK. It will make its global debut in June although Prodrive is now taking in reservations. Customer deliveries will start later this year.
