Toyota Motor PH Recalling Land Cruiser 300, Lexus LX For Brake Software

Just last month, Toyota Motor Philippines announced a recall involving vehicles with a faulty brake actuator software. Initially, the list covered selected units of the RAV4 Hybrid and Lexus NX HEV. Now, however, the carmaker has expanded the coverage of the said recall to cover two additional models.

The new list now overs 626 units of both the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 (615) and the Lexus LX600 (11). The affected Land Cruiser 300 units were produced from July 7, 2021 to April 1, 2022, while the affected LX600 units were produced from December 13, 2021 to March 12, 2022.

To recall (pardon the pun), these vehicles may have an incorrectly programmed Skid Control ECU software wherein when the driver turns off the Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), the VSC may not return to its default on setting at the next ignition cycle.

If the VSC does not default to the on setting, a warning light will still illuminate on the dashboard prompting the driver to re-engage VSC. However, if the driver fails to notice the warning light, the vehicle will be operating with an inoperative VSC system.

This condition, according to the carmaker, is non-compliant with some applicable regulations in some countries.

Authorized Toyota and Lexus dealerships will re-program the Brake Actuator ECU and will be performed at no cost to owners.

  1. I wonder what will happen to those vehicles bought from grey market importers?

  2. Anyone wondering why toyota can bring in alot of landcruisers here in the PH ? But in other countries you can easily get them , be it cash or installment payments . Car dealerships take advantage of the 1M pesos markup if you want to get your landcruiser. TMPI (toyota PH) wake up!
