Hyundai Trucks And Buses Strengthens Presence In Visayas

Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI), the official distributor of Hyundai Commercial Vehicles (CV) in the Philippines continued to strengthen its presence in the Visayas area through its participation at Philconstruct Visayas as well as its continued acceleration of the adoption of Modern PUVs among transport cooperatives.

Some 3,000 customers from various industries at the recently concluded Philconstruct Visayas got a chance to check out the premium features of these Korean heavies, courtesy of authorized dealer, Hyundai Trucks and Buses (HTB) Cebu under the Onglatco Group

Philconstruct Visayas had over 300 participating brands and 200 exhibitors. Held in Cebu City, the three-day trade show is HTB Philippines’ latest foray in broadening its connections with the local government, business community, and transport sector in the Visayas.

Meanwhile, key stakeholders in the Leyte-Samar public vehicle transport sector gathered at The Oriental hotel in Palo, Leyte to witness the sealing of a Memorandum of Understanding of local transport cooperatives with Hyundai Trucks and Buses Philippines and authorized dealership, Hyundai Trucks and Buses Cebu for the acquisition of a fleet of Hyundai HD50S GT Modern PUV.

In attendance were representatives of 17 Leyte transport cooperatives, local government and business leaders of Leyte province, and representatives of HTB Philippines and HTB Cebu.

Local executives in attendance called for closer collaboration to speed up the movement of people and products in order to accelerate the growth of Region VIII.

According to the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), of the 2,302 PUJs operating in Region VIII, only 335 are modern jeepneys.

In response, Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI) Chief Operating Officer Ladislao Avila thanked the audience for “trusting the Hyundai Modern PUV as your partner in driving the transport sector in Leyte Province and Region VIII as a whole.”

Amid the challenges of the pandemic, Hyundai Trucks and Buses Cebu turned over 15 units of Hyundai Modern PUVs to the G.C. Godie cooperative and, on May 23 this year, another eight units of Hyundai modern PUVs to the San Miguel Transport Cooperative.

“As the partner in every way of local governments and businesses, we share in Region VIII’s collective aspiration to develop innovative and relevant solutions that benefit not only our business, but would greatly favor the progress of communities,” said HARI President and CEO Ma. Fe Perez-Agudo.
