Panay Island Transport Cooperative Starts Shift From UV Express To Modern PUVs

Panay Island Transport Services, Inc. recently received its additional three units of the Dongfeng Class 3 Modern PUV from Pilipinas Autogroup, Inc. Their growing fleet of modern PUV Class 3 now totals five units. These units will start plying the routes from Roxas City to Estancia, Capiz.

For Panay Island Transport Services, upgrading their units from their current UV Express to modern PUVs is a win-win situation thanks to the latter having more capacity as well as better comfort reliability, and efficiency.

Initially, the transport company bought two units of the same vehicle last October 2021 as trial. “The Dongfeng units proved to be comfortable, reliable and economical to run and this is the reason why we decided to get three more. We also like to deal with PilipinasAuto for our Dongfeng requirements since we are well taken care of in terms of customer service,” says Mr. Ronald Angeles, Panay Island Transport Services, Inc. president.

The 24-seater Dongfeng Class 3 modern PUV is powered by the Nissan ZD30 engine. This 3.0-liter Euro 5 compliant engine produces 150 horsepower and 330 Nm of torque. This is then mated to a 6-speed manual. Stopping power is provided by a full air brake system with ABS.

Under the distributorship of PilipinasAuto, the Dongfeng Class 3 modern PUV is backed by a 3-year or 100,000-kilometer warranty.

  1. Ah those Nissan-powered mini buses of Dongfeng
This is way more affordable than the Toyota Coaster and some Toyota Coaster clone of JAC
