PIMS: Suzuki Philippines Shows 2023 Ertiga Hybrid

It’s official. Suzuki Philippines has previewed the Ertiga Hybrid at the Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS).

The Ertiga Hybrid shown at PIMS is the Suzuki Sport variant made at the Indonesian assembly plant. This is differentiated from the regular non-Suzuki Sport Ertiga Hybrid thanks to its wrap-around body kit and rear spoiler. Unlike the Indonesian model though, the Philippine market Ertiga Hybrid wears the 15-inch turbine style alloy wheels with 185/65R15 tires in the Indonesian market GX model.

Powered by a mild hybrid system (officially called Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki or SHVS), the Ertiga Hybrid mates the K15B engine with an integrated starter generator (ISG) and a 6-Ah 12-volt lithium-ion battery. This helps bump up the outputs of the 7-seater MPV to 104.7 horsepower at 6,000 rpm, while torque is up to 138 Nm at 4,400 rpm. An idle start/stop is also standard. At PIMS, the model shown is powered by a 4-speed automatic.

Apart from the mild hybrid system, the Philippine spec Ertiga Hybrid is being positioned as their top-of-the-line trim. With that, it gets leather seats, a power tailgate, and a larger infotainment system with a 360-degree camera.

These features aside, it also has automatic projector halogen headlights, power folding side view mirrors with turn signal repeaters, an all-black interior with charcoal black gloss accents, and a revised meter cluster with a full-color multi-information display.

So far, Suzuki Philippines hasn’t given any indication as to the Ertiga Hybrid’s official launch date, but they said it will be “soon.” With that, they’ve opened the reservation books for the country’s first hybrid-powered MPV.
