It's Official: Here Are The Prices Of The 2023 Honda BR-V

After revealing its November 21 launch date, Honda Cars Philippines has continued to announce more information surrounding its much-awaited 2023 BR-V. Now, in a lead up to the launch, they’ve finally confirmed the prices. Previewed at the 8th Philippine International Motor Show and launched globally way back in 2021, the all-new BR-V comes in four variants:
  • BR-V 1.5 S MT
  • BR-V 1.5 S CVT
  • BR-V 1.5 V CVT
  • BR-V 1.5 VX CVT
And in five colors:
  • Premium Opal White Silver (new color; VX CVT and V CVT)
  • Meteoroid Grey Metallic (new color; all variants)
  • Crystal Black Pearl (V CVT and S CVT)
  • Lunar Silver Metallic (all variants)
  • Tafetta White (S CVT and S MT)
Undoubtedly pressured by the impending launch of a chief rival, the Hyundai Stargazer, Honda Cars Philippines has now released the official prices of its 7-seater sub-compact SUV a month before its official launch which are:
  • BR-V 1.5 S MT – P 1,100,000
  • BR-V 1.5 S CVT – P 1,190,000
  • BR-V 1.5 V CVT – P 1,300,000
  • BR-V 1.5 VX CVT – P 1,390,000
At this point, the only thing left to reveal would be what differentiates each variant.

Based on what the Japanese carmaker displayed at PIMS, the top-of-the-line VX stands to get the monocular-camera-based Honda SENSING driver assist system, leather seats, automatic climate control, 6 SRS airbags, and rear parking sensors/camera as standard. The V is expected to drop Honda SENSING, while retaining everything else.

Meanwhile, for the entry-level S variants, LED headlights are said to be standard, but the S CVT and its P 90,000 price gap will gain buyers large wheels, a push-start system, and LED fog lights. LED headlights and an 8-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are reportedly standard even on the base S MT trim.

Powering all variants of the Honda BR-V is a 1.5-liter DOHC L15 engine with 121 horsepower and 145 Nm of torque. This is the same powerplant found in the all-new City and entry-level HR-V.

Do you think the prices are competitive, or is Honda Cars Philippines biting off more than what they can chew with their second-generation BR-V?

  1. If 6 airbags, height adjustment for driver seat and apple car play are available for S variant then S for me

    1. From our understanding, the VX is the only one that will get 6 airbags (4 for the V, may be 2 for the S). Height adjustable seats for the driver is standard though as is the 8-inch infotainment.

    2. Only 4 airbags for the S and V variants similar to what they did with the S and V variants of the City Sedan..

  2. 1.250M veloz v has 6 airbags, 360 cam, wireless charging, blindspot monitor, rearcross traffic alert, toyota safety sense, autohold, e park, etc. I would rather buy hrv s than overpriced brv

  3. honestly a tad bit pricey....considering that most if not all of its competition doesn't even reach the 1.3m mark. But I want to see the full specs first :)

    1. Advantage of the New BR-V are its more powerful engine, better looking interior materials and more comfortable ride quality..Toyota Veloz still looks filmsy like an early 2010's Chinese car while Xpander and Livina got outdated safety features and tepid engine.

    2. I'm agree except the better looking interior materials part, the BR-V is not better than Avanza-veloz, they're more like on par with each other which is pretty disappointed tbh. Also with that price, people will going to pick Veloz.

    3. Also as far as I'm aware, BR-V got worse noise insulation than it's competitors (at least in Indonesia)

    4. Noise insulation of the Avanza and Veloz aren't that great as these are made using DNGA.

    5. I've read that NVH was improved for the current facelifted BR-V

  4. tops at 1.4m, have to see the full specs and maybe a full review, but i heard hondas are becoming more and more expensive e.g. the new cr-v

    1. Honda still produces affordable vehicles like the City Sedan and Brio hatchback..New CR-V is expected to be more expensive as it'll use a newer platform and engines but still cheaper than the RAV-4.
Honda is set to introduce a smaller SUV meant to compete with the Kicks and Raize next year.

  5. Currently the Mitsubishi Expander is the benchmark among all MPVs in the market. But with the arrival of Hyundai STARGAZER it means the Hyundai is BACK! Soon a Long waiting List is coming.

    1. Its already expected that there's gonna a be unit on sale shortages for the Hyundai Stargazer similar to the Staria..It'll hurt the hype and sales of the MPV..Honda BR-V is also expected to have a unit on sale shortages too similar to the HR-V..Right now the Xpander/Livina and Avanza/Veloz are gonna be hard to beat..

    2. Xpander as benchmark? Hmmnn...i dont think so, it only has 2 airbags, dont have ADAS, blindspot monitor, rearcross traffic alert, 360 cam, wireless charging - which the veloz have. TOTLStargazer has also ADAS, and the transmission of xpander here is still the dinosaur era 4sped, xpander in indonesia already has cvt trans.

    3. Hyundai is actually not targeting a lot of sales with the Stargazer. Supposedly just 500 units a month (enough for third). So far, Xpander is doing about 1,000 units, while the Avanza/Veloz is doing about 1,400 units a month.

    4. Based on the short drive I did (I didn't want to do a first impressions/drive story, because the route was just within a village), the Stargazer is soft, pliant but not the sharpest tool in the shed. The Xpander is still the benchmark when it comes to driving fun (if you really want that in an MPV). However, the Xpander also feels very nervous at speed (the steering is fidgety on the highway). It does, though, have the best NVH. Agree with your observation that the Avanza/Veloz doesn't have great NVH. Xpander could have benefitted from better safety equipment, but it's clear the platform wasn't designed to accommodate curtain airbags.

    5. I'm quite surprised that the Avanza/Veloz doesn't wipe the floor with its competitors in terms of performance and refinement, considering the Raize, which the Avanza shares its platform with, got high praises in this site's review. Is the Avanza/Veloz that worse than the Raize? Or is the Xpander's chassis just a bit better tuned than the DNGA siblings?

    6. The DNGA platform seems to perform better on the Raize, especially with the turbo. The 1.2-liter version felt "okay." I wouldn't say that the Avanza/Veloz is worse than the Raize...it's just that they have very different tuning. Toyota went for something that's definitely softer so that dulled the handling somewhat. Mitsubishi, remember, did tweak the Xpander's suspension for the update and that helped give it a slight edge.

  6. Okay, my bad. Based on September sales data, this is how the MPV market will look like:

    1. Toyota Avanza/Veloz - 2,333 units
    2. Mitsubishi Xpander - 1,664 units
    3. Hyundai Stargazer - 500 units (target)
    4. Suzuki Ertiga - 315 units

Nissan didn't report any Livina sales last September.

  7. Honestly, the BRV is kinda in a weird spot. Veloz is cheaper and better. Then the new innova will be coming out soon. So one would wonder why anyone would buy a barebones brv for 1.2m when you can get a totl veloz.

  8. LOL almost 1.4M for a Turd World underpowered 1.5L gas engined 7-seater suncompact SUV kuno. Just get an Innova diesel and don't bother with any car in this category.

    1. You call the BR-V a third world vehicle and then you recommend the Innova which is an outdated and unsafe THIRD WORLD VEHICLE meant for poor countries 🤣 Innova which is a MPV meant for third world poor countries is phasing out its diesel engine as the new generation one will be a hybrid MPV still meant for third world poor countries.

    2. Well it's not underpowered, is RWD, more usable cargo & passenger space, platform has proven to be reliable & rugged enough for turd world conditions. What can the BR-V brag about? An H badge worth 200K? An engine meant for subcompact hatchbacks? Lulz GTF0 here.
