Nissan PH Adds Safety, Variants To 2023 Urvan Line-Up

Nissan Philippines is continuing to update its core line-up with the release of the 2023 Urvan featuring a more streamlined design as well as the availability of a brand-new variant.

“The Urvan is one of Nissan Philippines’ best-selling models and we are excited to introduce this trusted and reliable people carrier with new technology and safety features,” says Nissan Philippines President Juan Manuel Hoyos.

The photos accompanying this story are from the Japanese Domestic Market, but the Philippine model doesn’t stray far from this. It comes with a re-designed front fascia with an updated V-motion grille and new look Nissan badge. The front bumper and trims have also been tweaked for a more modern appearance.

Inside, the 2023 Urvan gets a new D-shaped steering wheel with a new Nissan emblem and an auto-dimming rear view mirror. In terms of safety, it now gets dual SRS airbags, ABS with Brake Assist and Load Sensing Valve (LSV) as standard, and High Beam Assist as standard across all variants, while the Premium and GX variants adds four additional airbags (total of 6) as well as Vehicle Dynamic Control with Hill Start Assist (automatic variants).

Also new for 2023 is the addition of a new GX variant. The Urvan GX is basically the Premium (longer and taller than the standard Urvan) variant that’s been transformed into a cargo hauling variant. For that, it gets all the trappings of the Premium (including the availability of an automatic transmission), but with the second to fifth row seats removed. This model is on an indent order basis.

Speaking about the powertrain, it’s carryover for 2023 and for that, it retains the services of the YD25DDTi 2.5-liter turbo diesel engine which makes 129 horsepower and 356 Nm of torque. This is mated to either a 5-speed manual or 5-speed automatic.

Aside from the Urvan GX, the rest of the Urvan line-up retains the seating configuration and variants from the previous generation. The new Nissan Urvan is now available in all Nissan dealerships nationwide with the following prices:
  • Nissan NV350 Cargo MT – P 1,199,000
  • Nissan NV350 Urvan Standard 15-Seater MT – P 1,509,000
  • Nissan NV350 Urvan Standard 18-Seater MT – P 1,519,000
  • Nissan NV350 GX MT – P 1,899,000
  • Nissan NV350 GX AT – P 1,959,000
  • Nissan NV350 Urvan Premium MT – P 1,919,000
  • Nissan NV350 Urvan Premium AT – P 1,979,000

  1. Really good new safety features added in the Urvan Premium van which makes it a much better buy than the expensive Hiace GL Grandia..GX variant of the Urvan is likely meant for ambulance conversion use.
