Changan PH Brings In UNI Line Of SUVs With Prices Starting At P 1.679M

As a fitting end to 2022, Changan Motor Philippines, Inc. (CMPI) introduced two new models to beef up their crossover lineup: Uni-T and Uni-K. The launch was held during the inauguration of the Changan National Headquarters signaling the start of a new and upbeat era for the brand.

CMPI introduced the Uni-T and Uni-K which sets the standard for lifestyle crossovers that sport Changan’s latest avant-garde “Vision V” design language.

Upfront, there is a diamond-shaped borderless front grille which reflect Changan’s Vision V concept. Another distinguishing feature is the V-shaped rear spoiler integrated with its extra-large panoramic glass roof. Showing off a swept-back wing design, it not only adds a sporty touch to the exterior, but also effectively directs air flow and enhances the vehicle’s stability at high speeds. Hidden door handles add to the streamlined look of the Uni crossovers, while giving you a more fashionable and exclusive way of entering the vehicles, as the handles automatically pop out when keys are on hand.

The Uni-K, on the other hand, is elegance incarnate with a unique design that’s another sophisticated iteration of Changan’s signature borderless grille that uses Hexagonal Grille Pattern Design, amped up with sporty and eye-catching refinements all around such as the Trident Daytime Running Lights (DRL), Starship headlights, Airship-shape rear spoiler, and massive 21-inch alloy wheels.

The new generation technology smart cockpit in the Uni-K has a smart quadruple-screen interactive layout (3+1). The LCD digital instrument cluster comprises three parts: the left section displays tire pressure and door conditions; the middle section shows vehicle speed, augmented reality real-view navigation, multimedia interface and vehicle status; and the right section comprises a digital rear-view mirror, tachometer, and fuel gauge. The variety of information displayed by the LCD digital instrument cluster ensures that it adequately meets the diverse needs of consumers. In addition, the new intelligent infotainment screen design with ultra-wide angle, high-resolution and adaptive backlight controls effectively prevents eye fatigue while driving.

It is also loaded with technology and push-button convenience for today’s modern driver. For the Uni-T, this includes an Auto Parking Assist (APA) system which can be activated to automatically complete a rear parking maneuver, hands-free. Meanwhile, the Uni-K also comes with an Electric Tailgate with Induction Sensor that lets you open the cargo door hands-free when it senses your foot under the rear bumper. More remarkable features can be enjoyed in the Uni crossovers. Both boast a premium Sony sound system—6 speakers in Uni-T and 12 speakers with subwoofer in Uni-K. Both also come with voice control which aids in such functions like opening or closing windows, operating the radio and the automatic air conditioner, and making or receiving calls.

The Uni-T is powered by Changan’s 1.5-liter Blue Core Turbocharged Gasoline Direct injection (TGDi) engine that produces maximum power of 179 horsepower and 300 Nm. Mated to a 7-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) Electronic Shift with Normal, Eco, and Sport drive modes, the Uni-T delivers both excitement and efficiency in everyday driving.

On the other hand, the Uni-K generates a breathtaking 232 horsepower of maximum power and 390 Nm of torque, thanks to its 2.0-liter Changan Blue Core TGDi engine paired with an 8-speed shift-by-wire automatic transmission system with options for two-wheel drive (2WD), automatic, and four-wheel drive (4WD) lock with an All-Wheel Drive Switch Button that adjust the vehicle’s response to effectively navigate various road conditions.

Even more remarkable is the Uni crossovers’ safety level. Their Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) can achieve Level 2 autonomous driving with an abundance of advanced active safety features. Among these: Blind Spot Detection Warning (BSDW) that triggers visual and audio alerts for rear side warning, door opening and lateral warnings; Lane Keeping Assist (LKA); Automated Emergency Braking (AEB); Integrated Adaptive Cruise Control (IACC) with Traffic Jam Assist (TJA), Electronic Stability Control (ESC); Lane Departure Warning (LDW); Front Collision Warning (FCW); Rear Cross Traffic Alert among others.

The Uni-T, priced at P 1,679,000 and Uni-K, priced at P 2,719,000, are available for indent orders at Changan dealers nationwide.

  3. This is it. The game changer.
All the more the japanese and korean brands will be hard hit in terms of sales.
The coolray and territory alone has sold more than 35k units.. a very big dent in the competion. I think this is the reason why the japaneses and korean brands are adding more and more features to their line up at a more compelling price point.

  9. CS75 plus is as big (or bigger) and as stylish but much cheaper already than Uni T - yet you don't see much on the road.

2.7M for Uni K? People would rather buy TOTL PPVs and Korean/Jap midsize crossovers.
