Hyundai Reveals The Proper Way To Say Their Name Globally

People who just have a habit of correcting the pronunciation of others will have this newest tidbit up their sleeve: the brand, Hyundai.

Though Filipinos tend to have a good grasp of the English language, certain words do end up getting murdered. With that in mind, Hyundai wants to put a stop to that (at least when it comes to their brand) by coming up with the globally-recognized anglicized pronunciation of Hyundai.

And what’s that pronunciation you might ask? It’s “Hyun-day.” If that still didn’t help, well, it’s pretty much how you say, “Sunday.”

Now, take note that this proper pronunciation is a global one, so expect everyone, including folks from Hyundai Motor Philippines to adopt this starting this year.

However, for its native market of Korea, it’s still slightly different. With a name that translates to “Modernity,” its pronunciation there is: “Hyohn-deh.” But unless you’re talking in Korean, it’s best to adopt the new globally-accepted anglicized way of saying Hyundai.

As a reminder, the Hyundai logo itself is a silhouette of two people shaking hands. It’s a sign of the brand’s commitment to customer satisfaction and teamwork. Meanwhile, the oval itself is meant to signify their global aspirations.
