Refreshed BMW 3 Series Slides Into The Philippines For P 3.790M

The refreshed BMW 3 Series lands in the Philippines, delivering the same elegant design and sporty handling, but now with an extensively modernized interior and additional equipment.

At the heart of the changes is the newly designed cockpit with the BMW Curved Display and iDrive with Operating System 8. First seen in the BMW iX, the BMW Live Cockpit Plus features a 12.3-inch information display behind the steering wheel and a control display with a screen size of 14.9 inches merged together into a single unit. The additional digitalization of the cockpit allows BMW to significantly reduce the number of buttons in favor of touch and voice control.

Moreover, the gear selector features a new design. It’s positioned in the control panel on the center console along with the Start/Stop button, iDrive controller, Driving Experience Control buttons, parking brake, and other vehicle functions.

Additional features include a three-zone automatic climate control, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, the extended storage package (60/40 split-folding rear seat), and Park Distance Control with sensors at the front and back. The 2023 BMW 3 Series also fitted with the BMW Maps navigation system as standard.

Communicating the changes, the refreshed 3 Series has redesigned headlights and kidney grille for a stronger visual presence. The standard full LED headlights are now much slimmer compared to the previous generation, with clear contours and daytime driving lights arranged in an inverted L-shape to create a harmonious look. The grille has modified contours and new double bars as well. Air intakes, in gloss black, positioned below the kidney grille help cool the braking system.

At the back, the new 3 Series has a higher proportion of surfaces painted in the body color and a clean-cut design lend the rear apron of the new BMW 3 Series Sedan a particularly sophisticated look. Horizontal lines, slim light units and flared rear wheel arches accentuate the width and muscular stance of the rear. The exhaust system’s tailpipe finishers measure 100 millimeters in diameter.

The visual qualities of the new BMW 3 Series are further elevated in the 318i Sport. Standard specification includes M exterior features such as the M aerodynamic package, 18-inch M light-alloy wheels, and M High-gloss Shadow line trim.

For the Philippine market, the new 3 Series comes in the 318i Sport trim and for that has a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder petrol engine making 156 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque. Engine power is delivered through an 8-speed automatic with Steptronic.

A host of automated driving and parking systems are available to elevate the comfort and safety of the new BMW 3 Series to another new level. Standard equipment includes Cruise Control with brake function, Manual Speed Limit Assist, and Parking Assistant with the Reversing Assist Camera. In addition, the Reversing Assistant carries out the necessary steering inputs to maneuver the car backwards for distances of up to 50 meters along the same line it took when moving forward, adding a further layer of assistance when moving out of tight parking spots.

The new BMW 318i Sport retails for P 3,790,000 and comes with the 5-year comprehensive BMW Warranty.

  2. I just don't know why we buy BMW's that are at least 60% more expensive than US counterpart models. A 255hp 330 cost around 2.5m. Locally, we are getting a 2 liter 156hp for 3.8m. It's like getting a quarter pounder with a regular patty from MacDonalds and 60% more expensive to boot.
