2023 Isuzu D-Max Gets Tweaked Design, Colors, And A Price Bump

Isuzu Philippines has launched the updated 2023 D-Max bringing in aesthetic changes, a small price bump, and not much else.

Shown off at the Isuzu Summer Festival which runs until Sunday, April 23 at the Alabang Town Center, the 2023 D-Max gains a redesigned exterior for a sportier, more dynamic look.

The changes, limited to the top-trim LS-E and LS-A variants, include a new grille with a two-tone design (black and chrome gray) and 18-inch matte black Y-spoke alloy wheels. These complement a new color—Islay Gray—that joins the palette. Other colors are Valencia Orange, Onyx Black, and Splash White for the LS-E, and Red Spinel, Onyx Black, Splash White for the LS-A.

Other than the new grille and wheels, the 2023 D-Max swaps its brown and black interior for an all-black one. The seats also receive a redesign with a sportier horizontal pattern and a heat-reflecting coating to the leather seats. Sadly, the electronic differential lock feature is still MIA.

Powering the new D-Max remains the same 3.0-liter 4JJ3-TCX engine with 190 horsepower at 3,600 rpm and 450 Nm of torque from 1,600 to 2,600 rpm. The sole gearbox for the top-trim variant remains a 6-speed automatic. Other variants also get the choice of a 6-speed manual.

The Smart Duo cam-based ADAS system on the LS-E will stay on giving the D-Max forward collision warning and autonomous emergency braking, full-speed adaptive cruise control, pedal misapplication mitigation, lane departure warning, and automatic high beam. Additional safety features include Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross Traffic Alert, front and rear parking sensors, ABS with EBD, stability control, hill start assist, and hill descent control.

Elsewhere, Isuzu Philippines has culled the last surviving non-fleet RZ4E variant. For 2023, the RZ4E 4x2 LS has been discontinued with the 1.9-liter now just available on the fleet-oriented Single Cab & Chassis and LT grade.

“As your responsible partner in providing durable and reliable vehicles, we are elevating your driving experience with safer, more efficient, and more comfortable drive – a drive that will suit the needs of all members of the family,” says Isuzu Philippines president Tetsuya Fujita.

The pricing for the 2023 D-Max range are:
