Foton Motor PH Receives 4 International Awards From Foton Motor


Foton’s Philippine distributor, Foton Motor Philippines Inc./United Asia Automotive Group Inc. (UAAGI) brought home four international awards at the Foton Global Partners Conference 2023.

The Foton Global Partners Conference, with the theme, “Together Win Future,” was attended by more than 66 Foton core distributors from 55 countries. The conference aimed to unite global strategic development directions and share the achievements of globalization among the distributors.

Foton Motor Philippines Inc. was the recipient of the coveted Global Remarkable Distributor 2022 award, a reflection of the company’s excellence in sales, service, and aftersales operations.

Foton Motor Philippines executives were likewise recipients of individual awards, led by its General Manager, Levy Santos, who clinched the Best Individual of 20022—Excellence in Management award.

Also receiving individual awards were Donabel Santos and Marian Penaflor, both of whom were given Best Individual of 2022—Remarkable Contribution awards. Donabel Santos is the AVP for Sales Operations while Marian Penaflor is the Vice President for Finance of Foton Motor Philippines.

“We are extremely proud and delighted to be the recipients of these corporate and individual awards, which are a testament to the hard work and dedication of not just the three of us, but of every single member of the Foton Motor Philippines family,” shared FMPI GM Levy Santos.

On the second day of the conference, the Foton Mega Show had its grand opening with more than 100 commercial vehicle categories covering all series of commercial vehicles covering fuel, hybrid, electric, and hydrogen fuel technologies.

In the Philippines, Foton’s light-duty truck model has been a bestseller for three consecutive years. The brand has also achieved leadership status in Southeast Asia, Latin America, among other regions.

In 2021, Foton surpassed 10 million vehicles in total global sales, becoming the first commercial vehicle brand to reach this mark in the short time frame of 25 years. The fast-growing commercial vehicle specialist marked its 11 millionth vehicle on the third day of the conference with the delivery of a hybrid Foton Thunder pickup to Mexico.

With over 1,400 electric buses in service in Chile, Foton has become the brand with the highest market share of electric buses in Latin America. Foton is empowering its full range of commercial vehicle products with its “ICE+BEV” dual-line strategy. Its new energy products, including electric light trucks, vans and buses have passed the EU certification, expanding into European countries such as Italy, Poland, Spain, among other European nations. In markets such as Malta, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, India, and Egypt, Foton’s electric and hydrogen fuel cell buses have also achieved commercial operations in core venues such as public transportation systems and international airports.

Foton is also rolling out its Internet of Vehicles (IoV) connected technology in Singapore, Australia, and New Zealand. Foton already has 2.26 million connected vehicles on the road, empowering global users’ business values.

Foton has technical and commercial partnerships or collaborations with several global brands like America’s Cummins, Germany’s ZF, and China’s own CATL, a global leader in lithium-ion battery development and manufacturing for electrified vehicles.
