Cadillac Escalade Goes Full EV With 2025 Escalade IQ

Cadillac transforms its iconic full-sized luxury SUV, the Escalade, into an all-electric version called the Escalade IQ.

The first full-sized Cadillac SUV built on GM’s modular EV propulsion architecture, the 800-volt Ultium Platform, the Escalade IQ offers up to 724 kilometers of maximum range thanks to a large 200-kWh lithium-ion battery. Performance is delivered via two electric motors—one on each axle—that delivers up to 750 horsepower and 1,064 Nm of torque. A maximum charge rate of 350 kW means it can get 160 kilometers of additional range in just 10 minutes.

It also comes with a suite of advanced chassis technologies. Its adaptive air suspension not only provides precise steering and handling, but it helps lower the Escalade IQ up to 50 mm or raise it up 25 mm when needed. Four-Wheel Steer also reduces the turning diameter to just 12 meters at lower speed for greater maneuverability in parking lots or higher stability at high speed. A unique “Arrive Mode” also allows it to move diagonally, making it easier when pulling into or out of tight spaces.

Design-wise, Cadillac captures the design of previous Escalades, while still maximizing the benefits of a “blank-slate” design provided by its dedicated platform. While it’s instantly recognizable as an Escalade (down to its 24-inch wheels), it also has a lower, flatter floor resulting in exceptional spaciousness. Also, its wheels have been pushed to the corners for a more planted stance, while keeping its long, dynamic hood. It also features a faster-sloping roofline at the back.

The Escalade IQ’s new design pushed the wheels farther to the corners, for a more powerful-looking and planted stance. The proportions speak to its presence and scale. Starting with a long, dynamic hood and ending with a faster-sloping roofline at the rear, all of which contributes to a sportier aesthetic.

Inside, it melds thoughtful details with strong architectural influences. It features a curved pillar-to-pillar 55-inch LED display powered by a next-generation Snapdragon 12 Cockpit Platform. A built-in 5G model offers lighting fast connectivity and infotainment functionality as well. The second-row is available with stowage tray tables, 12.6-inch personal screens, dual wireless chargers, and even massage seats with headrest speakers. The panoramic fixed glass roof also spans the first and second rows of seats for a truly immersive experience. For audiophiles, standard is a 19-speaker AKG Studio audio system, going up to 36 and even 40 speakers on the higher trim models. The Escalade IQ also has a front trunk that fits two golf bags.

Production of the first-ever Cadillac Escalade IQ begins in the middle of 2024 with a starting price of USD 130,000 (P 7.310 million).
