Hyundai Updates Stargazer Headlined By New SUV-Inspired Stargazer X Variant (w/ Specs)

Hyundai held the world premiere of the refreshed 2024 Stargazer headlined by a new crossover-inspired variant: the Stargazer X.

The refreshed Stargazer may look the same outside, but inside, it receives a new dashboard with a large piano black accent surrounding the floating-style instrument cluster and infotainment screen. The instrument cluster’s bezel has also been reshaped for better outward visibility. Completing the changes is an electronic parking brake with auto hold. Higher trim variants also get ambient interior lighting to give it a more premium vibe.

The headline though is the addition of a new variant to the range: the Stargazer X. Answering the clamor of families with more active lifestyles, the Stargazer X blends styling elements of Hyundai’s award-winning MPV and SUV range. The new bumpers with integrated aluminum-like overriders give it a sense of ruggedness. Meanwhile, the new grille with a 3D interlocking design element and 17-inch alloy wheels with 205/50R17 tires add sophistication. Roof rails, black fender overriders and black side sills complete the transformation. In terms of colors, two matte colors (Gravity Gold Matte and Optic White Matte) join the palette.

Inside, it receives features such as a segment-first 8-speaker Bose sound system, wireless device charging, and an integrated Emergency SOS button built into the overhead console thanks to standard BlueLink, Hyundai’s connected car services feature. Black leather upholstery with red accents is standard, but seating options (at least for its launch market of Indonesia) is available in both 7- and 6-seater versions.

Underneath, the Stargazer family continues with the same mechanical formula as before. This means having the Smartstream G 1.5-liter making 115 horsepower at 6,300 rpm and 144 Nm of torque at 4,500 rpm.

For safety, the Hyundai Stargazer X gets standard Hyundai Smart Sense with Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, Driver Attention Warning, Blind Spot Collision Avoidance Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Collision Avoidance Assist, Safe Exit Warning, and forward clearance sensors. This is on top of rear disc brakes and tire pressure sensors.

Officially, Hyundai Motor Philippines says the refreshed Stargazer and Stargazer X is arriving by Q4 2023. The Stargazer will go against the likes of the Mitsubishi Xpander and Toyota Avanza, while the Stargazer X will pit against the Honda BR-V, Toyota Veloz, and Mitsubishi Xpander Cross.

    1. Ang layo naman sa Xpander nyan. Tapos previous gen Santa Fe ang nauna sa dynamic shield na style ng Mitsubishi
