GAC Motor PH To Bring In M8 Luxury MPV In Q1 2024

Astara Philippines, the exclusive distributor of GAC Motor vehicles in the country, has confirmed the arrival of the GAC M8 in the first quarter of 2024.

The stately and elegant MPV, representing GAC Motor’s new generation flagship, is set to redefine the premium MPV segment with its advanced technology, opulent configuration, and unparalleled comfort.

Guided by GAC’s design philosophy of hi-tech industrial aesthetics, the GAC M8 seamlessly combines elements of grace, speed, and power. Its design, influenced by GAC Motor’s innovative design language, presents a sleek and pure body profile, evoking the elegance of a diamond refracting captivating light and shadows.

“We’re excited to present the GAC M8, a genuine fusion of opulence and innovation, to the Philippine market. Featuring cutting-edge technology, exquisite design, and unmatched comfort, the GAC M8 establishes a fresh benchmark in the premium MPV segment, and assures our customers an unmatched and pleasurable journey,” said Franz Decloedt, Brand Head of GAC Motor.

So far, no technical specifications were revealed, but in China the M8 comes with a choice between a conventional gasoline engine—a turbocharged direct-injected 2.0-liter with 252 horsepower, a plug-in hybrid with a combined 371 horsepower, or a hybrid featuring the Toyota Hybrid System. A hybrid M8 has been seen around Manila ferrying Astara executives.

Astara Philippines and GAC Motor are excited to bring the GAC M8, which will further strengthen the brand’s roster of vehicles available in the Philippine market. More details on specifications and pricing will be announced closer to the launch date.

  2. Diesel powered Van like Staria or Hiace is better than Hybrid for long haul. After hybrid battery expiration will cost 800k for battery replacement.

At least if you're buying you'll be contributing less to the current smog situation that we have. I'd rather have people run hybrids than diesel if it means having less NOx and smoke belching diesels.
