Porsche PH Brings In New 2024 Cayenne With Increased Digitalization, Available Plug-In Hybrid Power

Porsche Philippines formally introduced the fundamentally overhauled Cayenne for 2024. The third-generation luxury SUV comes with comprehensive changes to the powertrain, chassis, design, and equipment extending the breadth of its performance and comfort.

The refreshed front-end complete with a new hood emphasizes the Cayenne’s width. Furthermore, high-definition matrix LED headlights now come as standard further improving visibility whatever the road condition. At the back, a re-sculpted rear bumper with an integral number plate holder characterizes the 2024 Cayenne. New colors and an extensive range of wheels ranging from 20 to 22 inches make it more individual than ever. The traditional and Coupe body styles are available locally.

First introduced in the Taycan, the Porsche Driver Experience now makes its way into the new Cayenne. This updates how drivers and passengers interact with the SUV while striking a balance between digital and analog elements. Functions that the driver uses frequently are now located directly on or immediately next to the steering wheel. For example, the lever located on the left behind the steering wheel now has additional functions for operating the driver assistance systems. The automatic transmission selector lever, meanwhile, is now on the dashboard.

The 2024 Cayenne gets a fully-digital 12.6-inch curved, free-standing design instrument cluster, while at the center is a 12.3-inch display powered by the Porsche Communication Management system. As an option, a third screen—a 10.9-inch screen on the front passenger side—can further enrich the riding experience by offering separate access to the infotainment system and even the option of streaming video.

An air quality system is also standard on the new Cayenne. Using predictive navigation data, it detects approaching tunnel entrances and automatically activates air recirculation. A sensor also detects the level of fine dust particles and passes it through a fine dust filter multiple times if necessary. An ionizer removes even more pollutants, beneficial for allergy sufferers.

Underneath, the 2024 Cayenne comes with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM). The Adaptive air suspension features a two-chamber, two-valve technology.

For the Philippine market, the new Cayenne can be ordered with a variety of powertrains including the e-Hybrid model for the first time.

The range starts Cayenne with a 3.0-liter V6 producing 353 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque giving it a 0 to 100 km/h time of 5.7 seconds (5.4 seconds with the Sport Chrono Package). Moving up, there’s the Cayenne S and its 4.0-liter V8 producing 474 horsepower and 600 Nm of torque. This drops its acceleration to just 5 seconds (4.7 seconds with the Sport Chrono Package).

The big news is the availability of not one, but two electrified powertrains for the Cayenne. The Cayenne E-Hybrid’s 3.0-liter V6 produces a combined output of 470 horsepower thanks to a supplementary 176 horsepower motor. This plug-in hybrid offers an electric range of 86 kilometers. Then, there’s the Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid. The electrified 4.0-liter V8 produces a total of 599 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque. This makes it the fastest Cayenne ever with a 0 to 100 km/h time of 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 295 km/h (all electric speed is pegged at 135 km/h). It also offers an all-electric cruising range of around 82 kilometers.
