2024 Kia Seltos Arrives With P 1.198M Starting Price (w/ Specs)

Kia Philippines has unveiled the new 2024 Seltos. Part of their strategy to become a more aspirational (rather than value-conscious) brand, it is the start of their five new vehicle launch salvo that will continue into next year.

The refreshed Seltos gets a revised front fascia that’s stronger and more fitting to its boxy silhouette. The compact crossover gets a new grille, headlights, and new 17-inch alloy wheels. The bumper itself now accommodates upright rectangular fog lights and an overrider. Over at the back, the taillights are now made to run the entire length of the rear, while the bumper itself sports the same aggressive overfender.

Under the hood, the Philippine market Seltos comes with two engine options: a normally-aspirated 1.5-liter Smartstream engine (LX and EX) and a 1.4-liter T-GDI engine (SX). The former packs 115 horsepower and 144 Nm of torque and is mated to an intelligent variable transmission (IVT). Meanwhile, the latter comes with 140 horsepower and 242 Nm of torque. This one is mated to a 7-speed dual clutch automatic giving it a 0 to 100 km/h time of 9.7 seconds. The SX also comes with three drive modes: Normal, Eco, and Sport.

Inside, the Seltos receives a significant upgrade to its feature set. The SX, for instance, gets a full panoramic display, panoramic sunroof, ambient interior lighting, and a wireless device charger. In terms of safety, it gets dual SRS airbags, ABS with EBD, and electronic stability control as standard. It also comes with three-point seatbelts for all passengers as well. The top-of-the-line SX benefits from 6 SRS airbags, Smart Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go functionality, Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, and Parking Distance Warning.

  2. Sir Uly, is the unit seen in the photos CBU from South Korea or India? IIRC, the Indian model sports a different hood opening to the Korean made model.

    1. From what we're told our units are still sourced from Korea.

  3. Good start for the new AC Motors Kia Management! Though the engine was downsize, I think the new model is still competitive with the new price range for the 1.5L non-turbo models with its features. For the 1.4L turbo, it will go against the likes of Honda HRV 1.5L Turbo V, Ford Territory Titanium X, Mazda CX-5 2.0 FWD Pro...which are a little bit cheaper than Kia's 1.688M price for the turbo variant

  4. What variant is the display unit? Looks mid variant EX. But Pluton Blue is only for the SX?

  5. Will this 1.5 engine be adequate enough? The non facelift Seltos had 2.0 engine and power is just okay, not fast not slow, more on efficiency.

    1. Seems adequate enough on the Creta and Stargazer. Should be fine if its tuned the same way as its cousin vehicles.

  6. Looks to me the paint options will limit sales. Why not make fun colors available on the cheaper trims?

  7. We need a better Korea-PH trade agreement.

  8. Was the previous year model better?

  9. Can’t wait once they start importing ASEAN made Kia’s. Bet this Seltos could have bee cheaper if it wasnt from Korea.

  10. From 2.0L to 1.5L.What a downgrade

  11. This updated Seltos is actually made in China by Yueda according to a Kia Philippines and AC Motors official.
Kia Korea doesn't produce a 1.5 liter NA and 1.4 liter turbo versions of the Seltos

    1. Well...well...well...if that's the case AC Motors people can't even give one answer. One person also from AC Motors told me it was sourced from Korea. This is why the specs aren't as heavy compared to other compact crossovers.
