Hyundai Shows Off Refreshed 2024 Tucson

Ahead of its official global debut slated in early 2024, Hyundai has showed off the refreshed fourth-generation Tucson. The first re-design in three years, it features a revamped interior and exterior styling as well as promise of more tech and convenience features.

The 2024 Tucson inherits the current model’s “Parametric Dynamics” design language, but evolved thanks to thinner, more angular lines in the grille and revised Parametric Jewel hidden daytime running lights. The bumper and skid plates have also been tweaked creating a visually wider appearance. Over to each side, it has redesigned alloy wheels. At the back, the enlarged skid plates are now integrated into the bumper molding.

Inside, the Tucson gets a heavily revised dashboard. It makes do without the vertical “waterfall” center portion. Instead, it gets cabin heavily inspired by the Hyundai 5 and 6 and this can be seen in the free-standing instrument and infotainment screens which are made to link together into one unit. It also seems to get a new steering wheel-column mounted electronic shifter, new steering wheel, and new touch-sensitive climate controls. Even the center arm rest console seems to have modified to better fit the wireless device charger.

Hyundai has kept the mechanical changes to the new Tucson under wraps for now, but expect more information to trickle in just before its global launch

  1. Has it been three years already? So fast!

  2. I suppose gear selector being on the steering column is becoming a trend, seeing that newer EVs fitted with them. I think this works better in terms of muscle memory compared to push-button ones and makes the 2.0 diesel more attractive.

    1. It's all up to the driver. Buttons, knob, and rotary shifter are also available.
