This Bentley And Macallan Collab Costs More Than A Car

Whisky connoisseurs will want to start saving to get their hands on a single malt whisky from Bentley Motors and The Macallan. The bottle costs more than a car (but less than a Bentley) and is part of a collaboration to celebrate the distillery’s 200th anniversary.

The single malt Scotch whisky, presented in a horizontal vessel featuring a unique 180-degree twist detail, demonstrates a unique approach to product innovation and design, and reflects the horizontal plane of the automotive world.

The bottle itself is made from recycled materials used by The Macallan and Bentley Motors. The design consists of a copper frame, aluminum ribbon and low-carbon leather. It sits inside a leather-lined wooden case made of oak inlay and features Bentley’s Crown Cut Walnut veneer.

Meticulously crafted by The Macallan Master Whisky Maker, Kirsteen Campbell, from six first-fill sherry seasoned oak casks, the whisky has been crafted to capture the essence of a Bentley. Six individual casks have been selected from the stocks maturing in the warehouses at The Macallan Estate. Expertly combined, each cask brings its own characteristics to The Macallan Horizon.

Rich and indulgent dried fruit and spice flavour notes are beautifully balanced with oak and leather, aromas abundant in Bentley’s world. The whisky’s rich and long-lasting finish also mirrors the car’s timeless quality and design, resulting in a true stimulation of the senses through taste and texture.

Now, before you even think of getting one of these limited-edition releases, make sure you have some USD 51,000 (P 2.836 million) lying around in your bank account.

  2. Make a bottle from some recycled material, craft a twisted copper into some sort of receptacle, add some aluminum for a ribbon and "low carbon" leather to make it sound environmental friendly, name some obscure whiskey master that 99.9999% of the world's population has never heard of, then most importantly present it as a luxury by using some highfalutin, flowery rhetoric; sell it to some rich, impressionistic, prideful people at an outrageous USD 51,000 (P 2.836 million) a bottle and laugh yourself all the way to the bank. Yeah, luxury at its finest.

  3. You know for that amount you could already buy a sensible car, and have extra cash for other investments. Although for the target market 51k USD's probably just everyday pocket money :/
