GWM Philippines Launches P 1.288M Ora 03 EV, Previews 2 PHEV Models

GWM Philippines, under the distributorship of Luxuriant Automotive Group, Inc. (LAGI), expands its line-up with the introduction of its first EV for the Philippine market, the public launch of the Tank 300, and the preview three all-new vehicles at the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS).

“Today marks a significant milestone not just for GWM, but for the Philippine market as well. Since we launched, our goal has been to provide automotive products that will respond to the needs and wants of every Filipino. So far, I believe we are successful in doing so,” said Fritz Gerald De Ocampo, Product Planning Manager of GWM Philippines.

GWM Philippines launched the Ora 03 EV and previewed the Wey Gaoshan PHEV, Haval Menglong PHEV, and the Haval H6. The event also served as the public launch of the Tank 300 off-road SUV.

GWM Ora O3

The Ora 03 is GWM’s newest offering in the Philippines and comes in two variants: the Ora 03 400 and Ora 03 500.

Following the “Retro-Modernistic” design concept, the Ora 03 combines retro looks with modern features. The roundish exterior is complemented by its equally retro-modern interior with pastel-colored upholstery matched by dual displays for the infotainment and gauge cluster.

Comfort and convenience features include a panoramic sunroof, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, leather seats with front seat ventilation and massagers, automatic climate control, and a wireless phone charger.

The Ora 03 is powered by an electric motor that produces 169 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque. With a 48-kWh battery pack on the 400 variant, it can drive up to 310 kilometers on the WLTP cycle. On the other hand, with a 63-kWh battery pack on the 500 variant, it can drive up to 420 kilometers on the WLTP cycle.

Safety is uncompromised with a long list of features including 6 SRS airbags, ABS with EBD, stability control with hill-start assist control, tire pressure monitoring, and a 360-degree camera. It also comes with a suite of ADAS such as adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking with vehicle, pedestrian, and bicycle detection, lane keep assist, forward collision warning, and more.

The GWM 03 is one of the most accessible models in its segment with an introductory price of P 1,288,000 for the Ora 03 400 EV and P 1,778,000 for the Ora 03 EV 500.

Wey Gaoshan and Haval Menglong PHEV

GWM also took the opportunity to preview two PHEV vehicles for the Philippines—the Wey Gaoshan luxury MPV and the Haval Menglong PHEV.

Both these models are powered by 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engines paired to an electric motor. In the Wey Gaoshan, this powertrain produces 480 horsepower and 762 Nm of torque, while in the Haval Menglong, it produces 373 horsepower and 750 Nm. The former has an all-electric range of 140 kilometers thanks to its 39.48-kWh battery, while the latter has an all-electric range of 102 kilometers thanks to a 19.09-kWh battery.

They also have GWM’s Hybrid Intelligent 4WD or Hi4 technology, the world’s first intelligent control four-wheel drive hybrid technology. This provides a four-wheel drive experience, four-wheel drive performance, with two-wheel drive energy consumption at two-wheel drive price points.

Haval M6

A compact SUV for the price of a sub-compact sedan? That’s the GWM Haval M6 which will join the line-up as the brand’s new entry-level SUV.

Despite being low on price, the Haval M6 is high on standard features. Customers can expect the GWM Haval M6 to come standard with LED Headlamps with Daytime Running Lamps, 17-inch alloy wheels, a sunroof, leather seating, automatic climate control with rear AC vents, and a 10.25-inch infotainment screen.

The GWM Haval M6 won’t be compromising performance either with its standard 1.5-liter turbocharged engine producing 150 horsepower and 210 Nm of torque. This is mated to a 7-speed DCT. It also features three driving modes—Eco, Standard, and Sport—to ensure that the vehicle can adjust to any driving situation.

Tank 300

Also being showcased at the GWM booth at the MIAS 2024 is the brand’s new TANK 300 premium off-roader SUV which was introduced to the market a few months ago.

The Tank 300 has a tough, commanding design language with an upright front fascia with a rectangular, three-slatted grille. It also has round LED headlights with horizontal LED DRLs for a modern twist on classic off-road SUV designs of the past.

Inside, it has standard nappa leather with diamond-pattern stitching, a pair of 12.3-inch digital displays, and a 9-speaker Infinity sound system.

It’s also a truly capable vehicle with its turbocharged 2.0-liter with 217 horsepower and 380 Nm of torque. The transmission is an 8-speed automatic made by ZF.

The GWM Tank 300 is available for P 2,678,000.
