Toyota To Implement Price Increase On Select Models By May 1

Considering to buy a brand-new Toyota? Brace yourselves then. The carmaker has officially announced that there will be a price increase on select models by May 1, 2024.

Confirmed on a social media post made by one of its dealers, the following Toyota models is subject to a price increase effective May 1:
  • Yaris Cross
  • Avanza
  • Veloz
  • Rush
  • Hilux
  • Fortuner
  • RAV4
  • Hiace
  • GR 86
  • Alphard
  • Coaster
The official reason given by the dealer, and by extension, Toyota Motor Philippines is the “continued severe materials cost increase.” It’s also likely that unfavorable exchange rate (weakening Philippine Peso and Japanese Yen versus the US Dollar) is contributing to the price increase.

So far, no word on how much more you’ll have to pay for a brand-new Toyota come May 1, but sources say the expected price premiums would be up to P 100,000. So if you are in the market for a brand-new Toyota, you still have two days (April 29 to 30) to secure yourselves of any of the units listed above.
