Jetour Auto Philippines has priced its X70 Lightning i-DM at a competitive P 1.648-million. The carmaker’s second plug-in hybrid and first to offer seven seats, it will compete squarely against the “more cramped” BYD Sealion 6 DM-i (no relation).
The X70 Lightning i-DM will come in four colors: Coral White, Marble Gray, Jade Green, and Pebble Gray. The first two colors will come with a Mocha/Gray interior, while the latter two will have a Burgundy/Black interior.
Based on the X70, the X70 Lightning i-DM is a three-row 7-seater SUV measuring in at 4,785 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width, and 1,720 mm in height. It sports a 2,745 mm wheelbase.
While it shares the X70’s turbocharged 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine, because it packs dual electric motors, outputs rise to 271 horsepower and 395 Nm of torque, enough for a 0 to 100 km/h time of 7.7 seconds. Moreover, thanks to a 19.34-kWh lithium-ion battery, it’ll have a 110-kilometer all-electric range. Together with a full tank of gas, it goes up to 1,200 kilometers. Meanwhile, charging takes just 25 minutes (20 to 80 percent charge). Transmission duties are handled by a two-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT). Like other PHEVs, it has Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability, outputting 6.6 kW.
The X70 Lightning i-DM is a fully-featured mid-sized SUV with a pair of 10.25-inch displays, a dual zone climate control with a 9-inch touchscreen display, a Sony 8-speaker sound system, and a full set of ADAS features including autonomous emergency braking, blind spot detection with rear cross traffic alert, lane keep assist, and a 360-degree camera.
As for warranty, the X70 Lightning has a 6-year or 1-million-kilometer general warranty, an 8-year battery warranty, and 10-year engine warranty.

More affordable than the Dashing DM-I which is already forgotten now due to its steep price
ReplyDeleteIn Cebu, these people handled chery motors. All of a sudden, they switched to jetour. They left Cebu Chery customers with no dealer/casa service. Very irresponsible car sales dealer, you are left wandering after they sold you the car
ReplyDeleteGateway owns the local distributor of Jetour vehicles in the Philippine market
DeleteThey've closed some of their Chery dealerships so they can use it to sell Jetour vehicles
Some Chery dealerships are converted into BAIC dealerships.
Note that the X70 LIghtning uses a Ternary Lithium Battery (NCM), not a Lithium Iron Phosphate Battery(LiFePO4). The NCM Battery provides a higher density charge & discharge allowing the X70 L to accelerate 0-100Kph in 7.7secs. However, an NCM battery is recommended to be charged up to 80% only for daily use which affects the X70 L's Battery Only Range. Also, LiFePO4 are inherently much safer and can be cycled from 2 to 5 times more than an NCM Battery, and are better for countries where the ambient temperatures average 80 degrees F and above during daytime. Note that you have to charge a LiFePO4 Battery to 100% at least once in 3 weeks so that The Battery Management System can accurately determine the SOC(State Of Charge) information. To further minimize degradation of an LiFePO4 Battery it is suggested that one maintain the SOC from 20% to 80% (25% to 80% in a SEALION 6 Philippine model) during regular daily use and charge the same up to 100% within an hour or less before a 100+km trip. For NCM batteries the recommendation for minimal degradation is 20% to 80% SOC for daily use (or better yet 20% to 70%) and charge only to 100% when leaving within 30 minutes of 100% SOC.
