Filipinos families love the Mitsubishi Xpander for one good reason: it does everything very well. For those who’re after practicality, it offers boatloads of space with an interior that’s just as flexible. For those who want some excitement, it drives very well and it’s got head-turning looks that make it un-MPV like. Building on those strengths, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines is introducing the new 2026 Xpander. With new features and a bolder look, it keeps Filipino families safe, comfortable, and connected.
For the third major update of the Xpander in the Philippines, Mitsubishi has pulled out all the stops to deliver one good-looking MPV.
The 2026 Xpander features a redesigned front-end, particularly with the new bumper, grille, and headlights. The bumper is now made to visually connect to the side air dam and rear bumper thanks to these aero blades for a dynamic on-road appearance. Next up, the grille. Up top, the new satin chrome accent is made to visually connect to the sharper LED daytime running lights making it look wider and more planted than ever. The solid upper part is connected to a fine mesh bottom for a sophisticated, coherent look. Capping off the changes are new 10-spoke 17-inch alloy wheels.
The Xpander Cross has been refreshed as well. Gaining the same design elements found in Triton pickup truck and Xforce SUV, the lower portion of the bumper has a wider design with integrated vertical guards. There’s also a different grille where the iconic structured mesh is set within the trapezoidal outline making for a robust and powerful appearance. The same can be said with the rear-end where the vertical guards give off a protective image, while geometric 17-inch alloy wheels help it really stand out.
All in all, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines is making a total of six colors available for the Xpander and three for the Xpander Cross:
- Red Metallic (GLS)
- Green Gronze Metallic (GLS)
- Quartz White Pearl (GLS)
- Graphite Gray Metallic (GLX, GLS)
- Blade Silver Metallic (GLX)
- Jet Black Mica (GLX)
- Green Gronze Metallic w/ Black Roof (Cross)
- Quartz White Pearl w/ Black Roof (Cross)
- Sunrise Orange Metallic w/ Black Roof (Cross)
The Xpander maintains its classic black interior, now upgraded with soft touch inserts and stitching. Meanwhile, the Xpander Cross’s burgundy and black colorway elevates its sense of luxury and elegance. This top-of-the-line trim also comes with a heat-reflective coating called Heat Guard for its leather seats.
Both the Xpander and Xpander Cross, however, benefit from a new steering wheel design, a new 8-inch LCD instrument cluster, and a new 10-inch touchscreen Smartphone-link Display Audio system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
And improving safety and comfort even more, the second-row center seat now has a headrest.
For 2026, Mitsubishi is making the Xpander even safer and more confident on the road. This starts with a 360-degree Multi-Around Monitor, handy for negotiating tight spots.
Powering both the Xpander and Xpander Cross is the tried-and-tested 1.5-liter MIVEC 4-cylinder engine. This 4A91 engine produces 105 horsepower and 141 Nm of torque. This is mated to either a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic with cruise control.
Further helping handling and safety, Active Yaw Control is now on the 2026 Xpander and Xpander Cross. It almost acts like a limited-slip differential, managing torque distribution between the left and right wheels. This system helps maintain control during cornering, especially in slippery conditions, by optimizing the distribution of power and braking force to individual wheels.
The 2026 Xpander and Xpander Cross is now available for reservations across the entire Mitsubishi Motors Philippines dealership network with a total of three variants:

Love that 4 speed AT, ppl think it has strong torque lol
ReplyDeleteStill no ADAS at that price point, well done
ReplyDeleteOld people don't like adas for the sake of easier maintenance
Deleteits about pricing, then they shouldve priced it less
DeleteStill four speed automatic, still two airbags, still no hybrid lol. Mitsubishi PH really cutting down the local Xpander lineup. It was good when it was launched from 2018-2020, but the competition has simply surpassed it in all aspects. Let us wait for Stargazer Cartenz instead.
ReplyDeleteNah, I prefer mitsubishi because it won the 2025 axcr and I would rather have 4 speed than cvt.
Delete2025 AXCR is win to Triton, not Xpander 😂
Deletedid they win the 2025 AXCR with 4 speed AT? lol
ReplyDeletesame!!!
DeleteSame old Expander just a different outfit. LOL
ReplyDeleteI can't blame buyers for shifting towards the more bang for the buck Chinese offerings.
Chinese brands is not that bad if you know what these japanese brands did
DeleteMitsubishi is very good with numbers. The power to weight and torque to weight ratios of the xpander and mirage G4 are identical..
ReplyDeleteStill no ASC and HSA for Xpander GLX. While these features are already available for all variants of Mirage G4.
ReplyDeleteWell, to force car manufacturers to make ASC and HSA standard to ALL cars, as well as increasing the standard airbag count to at least 6, overhauling the 61-year old RA 4136 would've solve that problem.
DeleteI feel so much safer with the same 2 airbags and no ADAS but pricing increased
ReplyDeletePrice increase for what? some exterior changes? that xpander platform is old AF, they already got ROI and better decrease the prices
ReplyDeleteLike other Japanese brands, they have no incentive to do that. The only thing that will get them to change is people voting with their wallets and buying from their (arguably better value) competition.
DeleteIf Mitsubishi is relying so much on the ancient mirage and the 90's mechanicals of the xpander for majority of sales. You know the company is in trouble and there is no light in sight
ReplyDeleteI don't know if they care honestly. I read somewhere that Mitsubishi Motors is like 5% of their operations.
DeleteIt makes me want to compare them to how xbox is to Microsoft but given their current state ayaw ko nmn mag prophecy na maging ganyan kalala yung kalagayan nila 😅
Mitsubishi is literally dying and Philippines is one of their major market but they just milk out of it instead of offering better products
DeleteTail gate is heavy manual lift to open and normally closes with a strong force because of weight.
ReplyDeleteCarpet at second row gets ripped easily because of the mound there the seat is attached.
Looking forward to improvements specially on a Hybrid type engine where almost all competitions now have.
Which other competitor has hybrid? Clue: Ertiga "hybrid" is not one of them 🤣
DeleteIs the Xpander Xpanding or Xpandable?
ReplyDeleteXpendable
DeleteAlmost considering this but still 2 airbags? Nah...
ReplyDeleteno ADAS for TOTL but priced highest among segment
DeleteThis is the people's choice, same reason why vote shitty politicians
The Philippines is the 3rd biggest market of Mitsubishi in the world and we get scraps of ancient technology.
ReplyDeleteall thanks to the stupid excise tax, the government made shit moves for tax and gave reasons for brands to increase prices
DeleteMitsubishi remains a strong no. 2 in the Philippines thanks to Xpander and Mirage. However, they are only no. 49 in the world as they are non existent in 2 big markets China and Europe.
ReplyDeleteTells you how low the standards of Filipinos are in choosing their vehicles.
DeleteSo many xpander haters here but its probably the best selling Mitsu model (or gas mpv for that matter) in PH.
ReplyDeleteTruly, a tree with bountiful fruits gets stoned!
i hope you enjoy ur xpander with 2 airbags and outdated features
DeleteI have long come to the realization that it's futile to argue over matters that are very subjective. What I might consider a piece of crap might be someone else's lifelong dream car. On the same note, my dream car might be someone else's palengke day car. On a more personal level, I have a friend who owns an xpander. For him, it's a life achievement, coming from someone who used to own a Wigo. For me, it's a piece of crap and I wouldn't be caught dead driving or owning one. But of course I offered my congratulations and praised the car.
Delete"i hope you enjoy ur xpander with 2 airbags and outdated features"
DeleteIf you are someone who gets in a fender bender most of the time (which you sound one), the Xpander with 2 air bags isnt for you. Now, move along and find some other car worth it to you.
the same mechanicals, why buy this one. if you're really a fan of expander buy the old model then. if it's still available dealers will surely dispose it at a cheaper price.
ReplyDeleteWhy? Is Mitsubishi a bad brand or a bad carmaker?
DeleteMitsubishi has a bad reputation worldwide. PH is the third largest market slightly behind Japan and the US. Given how large those markets are it is amazing how PH manages to sell a lot of Mitsus.
Deleteyes, its a dying brand. xpander is overpriced with that outdates specs
Delete2 airbags, rear drum brakes, 4AT, cosmetic changes, no hybrid technology + price increase. What are they thinking?
ReplyDeletesame reason why they keep voting corrupt politicians
DeleteChill everyone! We all know this supposed upgrade is bs. So maybe we are not the market. And to Mitsubishi maybe give us a better product befitting of the Philippines asone of your most important market
ReplyDeletewe are just victims of greedy mitsubishi and we shouldnt chill
Deletedont ask us to chill unless your part of them. we deserve better, selling that ancient xpander at that price is ridiculous
ReplyDeletewhy are you so triggered also? we just want better product offered to us and you treat competition as hatred lol. next time leave your mitsubishi employee number
DeleteYung mga simple comments ng iba about airbags lng or other small specifications. Puro "hate" na ba yan? 🙄
DeleteDid you know there are proper channels for your suggestions/ expectations/ rants/ derogatories/ demeanings/ etc. for the brand? Mitsu has a website, feedback site, lots of sales & service centers, or DTI for that matter. The xp CVT version wasn't brought here because "they listened".
This site is not a proper forum or a formal place to vent your frustrations about the brand. It could be that the "repeated ranting/ knit-picking" against the short-coming of the brand shows a person is not really after the benefit of the brand nor its buyers, but to build an opinion against it in this comment section.....to make people want to buy another brand which offer that thing that you rant about.
A few years ago on this site, some ranted about the xp GLS not offered in black color.....there are much better means to channel such rants/ frustrations. Hope this practice would not be allowed to go on in any of the comments section on this car site.
Wow. You remembered a random comment a few YEARS ago about someone 'ranting' (your choice of words is amusing) about wanting a very plain, highly common (and very in demand) color? And it was also about the XP? Hahahaha
DeleteThat comment and the other conspiracies being brought up is absolutely hilarious. Halos lahat ng car articles on this website have similar comments that are either complaining or 'ranting.' Pero parang itong discussion lng ata nag blow up. It's a comments section, who are you to police it? What a futile expression of a need for control. Bago ka ba sa internet? 🤣
(PS even if you think a certain medium is the wrong place to provide feedback it doesn't mean that the companies aren't going around and taking note of public sentiment. A very popular car review channel routinely mentions that they can confirm that car companies read the comments on their videos and encourages people to tell the companies what they think.)
So don't buy interior product. Hey I said inferior, ugly, waste of money etc. Not mitsu employee here just don't buy and move on. Maybe you were fired by Mitsubishi for being incompetent that is why all the angst. Or maybe not you just hate the product so don't buy and move on. Mitsubishi is notbholdingbabgun to your head.
ReplyDeleteOur home nalang for interior product
Delete7 Airbags for all models here in the Philippines.
ReplyDeletewith price below 1.2m few lang seven airbags car, five airbags meron, isa diyan ay Chery grand tour.
Deleteif seven seater pagpipilian na budget is around 1.1m choose Chery tiggo grand tour or Jetour x70, Chery grand tour is better quality than xpnder, while Jetour x70 isa sa pikamatibay na engine in long run.
ReplyDeletewe have china boy here
DeleteWith the way the competition is heating up, there may be more china boys than you're comfortable with, boy.
DeleteVeloz has standard 6 airbags
ReplyDeleteNot all people like the low ground clearance, poor NVH and mediocre engine of the slow selling Veloz.
DeleteNo point having 6 airbags and ADAS kung ang mismong Avanza at Veloz's crash structure are unsafe
ReplyDeleteWhat an absolutely stupid comparison lol
DeleteToyota and Hyundai fanatics are so frustrated that their favorite MPVs still can't beat the Xpander in terms of sales numbers.
ReplyDeleteHyundai Stargazer looks weird inside and out that's why people aren't buying it that much while the Avanza and Veloz are known for their poor NVH,mediocre slow engine, poor interior plastics, thin sheet metal and low ground clearance that's why those vehicles by Toyota are beaten easily by Mitsubishi Xpander in terms of sales numbers
Are these fanatics in the room with us? Because it seems like the only fans here are of a single brand and are fighting each other. Lol
DeleteBut seriously, the xpander has only taken the top selling spot since 2023 so it's not like there's been no competition since forever. Heck, if you combine innova and avanza sales Toyota still sold more MPVs in 2024.
I will say, comments like this have made this comment section very entertaining. 😂
Mitsubishi could have updated the camera system to 360 degrees and be done with it. The current car (outgoing) still looks up to date. It would have been better if they added airbags and made safety features more competitive.
ReplyDelete
