Good news to all Geely EX5 EV SUV owners: the brand is pushing out its first major update globally. Starting this mid-to-late August to September, the free OTA or Over-The-Air update focuses on enhanced smartphone integration and safety features.
For starters, there’s deeper Apple CarPlay Integration, which now supports steering wheel voice control buttons and one-touch activation, enabling voice dialing, navigation, and music control that’s fully compatible with popular music apps such as Apple Music and Spotify.
From there, there’s an update to the Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System (AVAS). The low-speed alert will now be updated with a more distinctive warning tone with reduced default volume, ensuring pedestrian safety while maintaining a quieter cabin environment.
Finally, there’s expanded language support, adding Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Polish to the in-vehicle system, while enhancing English and other multi-language capabilities for deeper functionality.
Rolling out these updates remotely is made possible by the EX5’s GEEA 3.0. By integrating both its electronics and electrical architecture, it combines 14 traditional body control modules to just two thereby creating a “Central Super Brain.” Moreover, this fully supports seamless, whole-vehicle upgrades, enabling the continuous evolution of the in-vehicle ecosystem and making the vision of software-defined vehicles a reality.
The Geely EX5 has so far entered more than 30 countries and regions, including Latin America, the Middle East, Europe, Southeast Asia, and Oceania.
Guided by a user-centric philosophy, Geely actively listens to customers’ feedback and responds swiftly to market needs. And as a global leader in the intelligent mobility sector, Geely Auto leverages its global R&D system and service network to consistently deliver differentiated product experiences.

That’s nice and all, but how about making the Geely App available globally?
