Toyota Motor Philippines has revealed the variants and prices of the all-new Vios Ativ. With a launch date set for October, the carmaker will be marketing it simply as “Ativ.” And get this, it will be offered in both non-hybrid and hybrid versions.
Officially revealed are the variants and prices:
- Vios Ativ 1.3 E M/T – P 916,000
- Vios Ativ 1.3 E M/T Premium Color – P 931,000
- Vios Ativ 1.3 E CVT – P 980,000
- Vios Ativ 1.3 E CVT Premium Color – P 995,000
- Vios Ativ 1.5 G CVT – P 1,069,000
- Vios Ativ 1.5 G CVT Premium Color – P 1,084,000
- Vios Ativ 1.5 HEV 2-Tone CVT – P 1,198,000
- Vios Ativ 1.5 HEV 2-Tone Premium Color – P 1,208,000
The full specs will be revealed at a later date, but looking elsewhere, it’s already clear what the sort of powertrains the Ativ gets.
Both non-hybrid powerplants continue with the tried-and-tested 1NR-FE and 2NR-FE engines, engines found in the current-generation Vios.
The 1NR-FE, found in the 1.3-liter variants put out 98 horsepower and 122 Nm of torque, while the 2NR-FE produces 106 horsepower and 138 Nm of torque. The solitary manual features five forward gears, while the two-pedal versions use a CVT.
The big news is the availability of a 1.5-liter hybrid in the 1.5 HEV variant. Like the Thai-market model, The 1.5 2NR-VEX produces 91 horsepower and 121 Nm of torque on its own, but thanks to a 80-horsepower electric motor and a lithium-ion battery, maximum output rises to 111 horsepower.
Globally launched in 2023, the Ativ now moves to a new global platform also shared by the Toyota Raize, Avanza, and Veloz, it makes the Ativ larger than the current model. It’s now 4,425 mm in length (up 5 mm), 1,740 mm in width (up 10 mm), and 1,480 mm tall (up 5 mm). Wheelbase has also stretched by 70 mm to 2,620 mm.
The all-new Vios gets a stylish aesthetic upgrade too with a fastback-like roofline and design cues reminiscent of the Camry and Corolla. The angular headlights now sport L-shaped DRLs, while the hood and front grille are more vertical now giving it a stronger on-road presence. Over to the side, the rear door opening is now longer, while at the back, a trim piece bridges the taillight clusters like in the Veloz.
Inside, there’s a tablet-style infotainment screen sized either 9- or 10.1-inches. Among the standard features of the decidedly driver-centric interior include the digital air conditioning controls, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, and an ambient lighting system.
On higher variants, Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) comes as standard and includes systems such as autonomous emergency braking, lane keep assist, front vehicle departure alert, all-speed adaptive cruise control, pedal mis-operation control, and automatic high beam.



Surprised that Toyota is offering the Ativ with the 1.3l engine at launch. Thought that this will be a strictly hybrid-only offering. Really think that the non-hybrid 1.5l is unnecessary. Barely anyone bought it anyway.
ReplyDeleteI've always wondered what the actual price of a vehicle could be without the customs duties tax, value added tax and excise tax. In india they mention the actual prices of the vehicle separate from the levies. What could've been the actual price of cars like the vios ativ?

The incentive should be direct to the customers not the OEM

ReplyDeleteIf they're getting rid of the old Gen completely and will only sell the new Ativ, then this represents a near 200k increase in price for the lowest entry level model. I don't know if I'd consider that competitive.

ReplyDeleteIf this model, the Ativ, is already imported, does it mean that in some time, the Vios will be removed from the our local production, only the Innova and Tamaraw will be left?
ReplyDeleteThe name Vios has been already famous for decades here in PH, so it's just sad that its name will be replaced. But Ativ is still a Toyota, so a Toyota will always be known here in PH.
I think this model will lose market for taxi operators. I hope this won't be an offensive comment because as everyone can see, an estimated 97% of taxis in Metro Manila are Vios.

So what happens to the local Toyota plant & its workers? It would've been better & cheaper to have locally manufactured vehicles.

DeleteNot all vehicles that are produced locally would be cheaper. Example are the Mirage and Mirage G4.
Sana dito nalang assembled yung ice variants. Current locally assembled vios have top notch build quality.
ReplyDeleteThat would be possible as long as the assembly plant would recalibrate or retool. Hopefully Toyota PH would do that.
