Pioneer Trucks Philippines has been officially appointed as the exclusive distributor of Maxus commercial trucks in the Philippines. The appointment comes from SAIC Motor, one of the world’s largest and most advanced automotive manufacturers, and marks the official entry of Maxus’ full range of commercial vehicles, both internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric vehicle (EV) variants, into the Philippine market.
The announcement coincides with the 2025 Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines (EVAP) Summit, where Pioneer Trucks is debuting the Maxus ES80 4-wheeler and ES80 6-wheeler, two all-electric light commercial trucks that headline the brand’s entry into the local transport sector.
With this partnership, Pioneer Trucks Philippines will manage sales, distribution, and aftersales services of the complete Maxus commercial lineup across the country. This includes not only the new electric models but also the ICE-powered versions, offering Filipino logistics and fleet operators a comprehensive range of vehicles to suit different operational needs.
“Pioneer Trucks has built its reputation on providing durable and dependable transport solutions for the Filipino market,” said Benedict Allen Go, President and CEO of Pioneer Trucks Philippines. “With Maxus now part of our portfolio, we’re not just introducing new vehicles—we’re helping drive the shift toward cleaner, more efficient logistics while continuing to support businesses that rely on proven diesel power.”
At the EVAP Summit, Pioneer Trucks is showcasing two of Maxus’ latest battery-electric light trucks: the ES80 4-wheeler and ES80 6-wheeler.
Both models share the same cab design and overall dimensions, built for versatility and city logistics. The key difference lies in their rear axle configuration and battery size:
Powered by a 41.8 kWh CATL lithium-phosphate battery, the ES80 4-wheeler produces 80 horsepower and 200 Nm of torque. It offers a range of up to 260 kilometers (half load) and can fast-charge from 15 to 100 percent in just 1.5 hours (DC). With a payload of 1.5 tons, it’s ideal for urban deliveries and small-scale logistics.
Built for heavier loads, the ES80 6-wheeler features a 53.58 kWh battery paired with a 134 horsepower motor and 270 Nm of torque. It delivers a range of 302 kilometers (half load) and a payload capacity of up to 2.5 tons, making it perfect for larger distribution operations.
Both trucks come with rear-wheel drive, hydraulic brakes, and leaf-spring suspension, ensuring reliability and ride comfort even under full load.
Joining the ES80 series soon are the Maxus EH300 and Maxus T1, both designed for medium- to heavy-duty applications.
The EH300 is a 6-wheeler single-cab electric truck with a 106.95 kWh CATL battery, producing 160 horsepower and 361 Nm of torque. It offers a driving range of up to 450 kilometers (half load) and supports DC fast-charging in just 1.3 hours. With a gross vehicle weight of 8,495 kg and a payload capacity of up to 6 tons, it’s built for demanding logistics and commercial operations.
Meanwhile, the Maxus T1 offers flexibility for both medium- and heavy-load applications. Equipped with either a 100- or 120 kWh battery, it produces 160 horsepower and 360 Nm of torque and achieves a range of up to 510 kilometers (half load)on a single charge. It also features hydraulic brakes, a rear 3+3 leaf spring suspension, and a maximum GVW of 6,495 kg, making it suitable for use as a dropside, aluminum van, or wing van.
All Maxus EV trucks come standard with ABS + EBD, air conditioning, LCD instrument display, Bluetooth radio, pedestrian and turning reminders, and battery heat management systems.
Each model is backed by a 3-year or 150,000-kilometer chassis warranty and a 5-year or 200,000-kilometer battery warranty, ensuring long-term reliability and peace of mind for operators.
While Maxus’ electric range takes center stage at the EVAP Summit, Pioneer Trucks also confirmed that ICE versions of the Maxus trucks will be available for customers who require traditional diesel options—giving businesses flexibility during the country’s gradual transition to electric mobility.
With decades of experience as the official distributor of DAF Trucks and a trusted supplier of genuine truck parts and accessories, Pioneer Trucks Philippines brings strong technical expertise and nationwide support to the Maxus brand. Its Cabuyao, Laguna headquarters will serve as the central hub for assembly, service, and training for Maxus’ local operations.
The company is already preparing dealer and service networks nationwide to ensure comprehensive coverage across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
