Oona Insurance Philippines has partnered with Tesla to provide one year of comprehensive coverage for new Model Y EV SUVs delivered in the Philippines.
Through this partnership, Tesla facilitates policy activation with Oona Insurance at the point of delivery, ensuring a smooth handover from purchase to protection. After that, Model Y owners enjoy comprehensive cover for 12 months from release date, backed by Oona’s digital claims service and 24/7 roadside assistance nationwide.
“Insuring an electric vehicle isn’t just about tapping into a trend, it’s about enabling a more sustainable future through insurance that’s as innovative as the cars themselves,” said Ninoy Rollan, CEO of Oona Insurance Philippines. “EVs present a different risk profile, and we’re committed to understanding that deeply, from pricing to certified repair partners, so protection truly keeps pace with progress.”
As the demand for electrified vehicles continue to rise, sales reached 18,439 units in the first eight months of 2025, accounting for 6 percent of the industry’s total sales, according to the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI) and the Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA). Tesla leads the battery electric vehicle segment at more than 2,000 units sold.
