Commercial vehicles may be in the main spotlight at Toyota, but it’s passenger cars that make up all of premium brand Lexus’s all-new offerings in 2026. Confirmed to arrive within the year are the heavily refreshed Lexus IS and the all-new Lexus ES.
Unveiled last April, the all-new Lexus ES marks a new era for the brand’s mid-sized sedan. The eight-generation Lexus ES debuts Lexus’s new design direction—Clean Tech x Elegance.
Built on a redesigned TNGA-K platform (GA-K), the ES is available with two hybrid powerplants globally. The ES 300h pairs a 2.0 liter naturally-aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine with an electric motor for a total system output of 197 horsepower, with all-wheel-drive versions instead gaining a 2.5-liter for a total of 201 horsepower. Meanwhile, the ES 350h gets an uprated 2.5-liter powertrain with a total output of 247 horsepower.
New to the ES family is a pair of fully electric powertrains. The front-wheel drive ES350e produces 224 horsepower and has a range of around 685 kilometers, while the ES 500e delivers dual-motor all-wheel drive and 343 horsepower, with a slightly shorter range of 610 kilometers.
Currently, it’s unknown which powertrains Lexus Philippines will offer locally.
Meanwhile, the Lexus IS received an extensive update that made its global debut in September.
For 2026, Lexus is keeping two powertrains—the IS 350 and the IS 300h. The 3.5-liter 2GR-FKS V6 is still the range-topping engine in the IS 350. Mated to an 8-speed automatic, it produces some 315 horsepower and 380 Nm of torque. An all-wheel drive version is retained but that one has six forward gears instead. Meanwhile, in the IS 300h, it has a 2.5-liter electrified 4-cylinder (2AR-FSE) putting out 221 horsepower combined. This one uses an E-CVT.
Regardless of powertrain, the Lexus IS receives a recalibrated electric power steering system with a new parallel rack gear (Variable Gear Ratio) and low inertia motor. Moreover, an updated Adaptive Variable Suspension replaces the conventional step-type actuator with a newly developed built-in solenoid actuator enhancing the damping force response by four times.

I dunno.. the previous one looked more elegant and expensive. This looks futuristic, yes, but I dunno, it looks less premium and definitely not a timeless design.
