CAMPI And TMA Recognized By DENR-EMB As Environmental Sustainability Partners

Both the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI) and the Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA) were recognized as Environmental Sustainability Partners at the 2026 Gawad Kabalikat sa Kapaligiran of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources – Environmental Management Bureau (DENR-EMB).

The EMB recognition acknowledges organizations and partners that demonstrate strong environmental performance, support sustainability initiatives, and uphold environmental regulations. The program highlights the importance of collaboration among government, industry, and communities in protecting natural resources and improving environmental quality.

For CAMPI, the recognition underscores the value of close coordination between regulators and the automotive sector in advancing national environmental goals while supporting responsible industry growth.

Meanwhile, the award acknowledges TMA’s active role in supporting environmental compliance within the truck manufacturing sector and its participation in initiatives that contribute to sustainable industrial development. Through close coordination with government agencies and industry stakeholders, TMA continues to advocate for responsible vehicle technologies, regulatory alignment, and programs that advance cleaner and more efficient transport solutions in the Philippines.

CAMPI advocates for a multi pathway approach to carbon neutrality, guided by a technology-neutral strategy to ensure a balanced transition towards electrification. It also supports policy research for carbon neutral fuels and sustainable and renewable energy. The organization aims to leverage its international partnerships and maximize industry dialogues to learn best practices and policy approaches towards promoting a circular economy in the automotive industry.

In support of CAMPI’s sustainability objectives, member companies continue to promote cleaner and more efficient vehicle technologies while enhancing sustainability practices within their operations. These efforts reflect a broader industry shift toward reducing environmental impact, improving resource efficiency, and maintaining strict compliance with environmental standards set by regulators.

On the other hand, TMA further emphasized that the commercial vehicle sector plays a critical role in economic development while also recognizing its responsibility to contribute to environmental protection. Through the integration of advanced safety technologies, improved fuel efficiency, and evolving greener transport innovations, the association supports the country’s broader goals of sustainable mobility and environmental stewardship.

Atty. Rhys Alexei Y. Murillo, Vice President of CAMPI, emphasized the significance of the recognition, stating, “Receiving this award is a milestone achievement for CAMPI and its Member Companies. Sustainability is an important pillar of the Automotive Industry and requires a shared blueprint for change.

“We are deeply honored to be recognized by the DENR-EMB as a valued partner in environmental sustainability. Our member companies remain fully compliant with government environmental regulations and are committed to promoting cleaner transport solutions, enhancing road safety, and supporting policies that lead to a more sustainable transportation sector. As we move ahead, TMA remains committed to continue close collaboration with government and stakeholders to build an industry that drives economic growth while protecting our environment for future generations,” said TMA President Robert Carlos.
