VinFast’s new Battery Subscription Program removes the battery from the price of the car. This allows you to purchase VinFast vehicles with a significantly lower SRP and then pay for the battery via a separate monthly subscription.
Just like a phone, an electric vehicle has a “battery health.” When new, the battery can fill its capacity and then drain as intended. As you use it over time via normal usage and charging, it will degrade and cannot perform 100 percent anymore. You’ll notice that the car drains faster than usual even if you charge it up to 100 percent. This is because the battery health has lowered.
Under this program, the battery health and performance will be covered by VinFast. If the health drops below 70 percent, they will replace the battery with no added cost. This removes everyone’s concern about the high battery replacement price you’ve probably seen via Google search.
This can also lower your insurance premium since the EV battery—one of the most expensive components of an electric vehicle—is now out of the equation.
This is great for high-mileage users like those who hail from the province but work in the city, fleet owners, commercial users, ride-hailing operators, or if you just want a more affordable EV.
