A confluence of factors meant VinFast had a day to remember: March 28. According to the Vietnamese EV maker, they managed to book 3,520 EV orders in Vietnam done with no dedicated promotional campaign tied to the date. Even more impressive is that after the orders were taken in, the vehicles were already ready to leave the VinFast factory.
VinFast attributes that to the groundwork the brand has laid down particularly with financial support for customers transitioning from gas to electric vehicles and free charging programs across its V-Green network. This, however, doesn’t explain the one-day spike. More likely, external factors such as the spike in fuel prices played a key role in convincing people to go electric, at least in Vietnam.
A similar situation, albeit on a smaller scale, has happened in the Philippines. Although VinFast is reluctant to release its monthly sales figures, it has mentioned in a social media post that it is now the second best-selling BEV brand as of March 2026. Anecdotal stories corroborate that as its entry-level VF3 has sold out in some of its dealerships because of high fuel prices.
The big question is: will VinFast be able to carry the momentum? VinFast is confident of that. They credit programs such as resale value guarantee, free charging at V-Green stations, and ensuring accessible and reliable aftersales support as the foundations they need to push forward.
VinFast is now #2 in BEV sales in the Philippines.

Momentum like this doesn’t come from a single product—it comes from building the green mobility ecosystem around it.
In the Philippines, that includes:
• Green GSM as the country’s pioneering all-electric taxi fleet

That's so VinFast! Thanks to their battery subscription program. I believe all automakers should have this program. Or can also be like NIO offering battery swap.
ReplyDeleteWell, that’s good. They seem to be investing a lot to our country.
ReplyDeleteSeeing lots of VF3 on the roads, very practical with high ground clearance and the CUTEST of them all.
ReplyDeleteBefore the March '26 spike there does not seem many buyers of VF on the road. I hope the sales volume of Vinfast can be sustained. And not only on the VF3 but for other models as well. It seems they can do better with the Green Series of commercial cars like Limo and Herio. And of course Nerio is doing well due to Green GSM/Xentro.
ReplyDeleteWill they start reporting their sales numbers or just release self serving PRs like this? Lol
ReplyDeleteare they lending you a review unit this time round?
ReplyDeleteTo be completely transparent, we tried getting a lend out (VF6, VF7) only to have it pulled from under us always at the last minute. We're not counting on it anymore.
DeleteTry riding a Green GSM taxi, you’ll instantly see why…
DeleteBaka sira ang units kaya hindi mapahiram hehe
DeleteIn one of their dealerships, the agent told me na pending release pa sila ng 150+ VF3s. Mga 1-2 months pa yung wait.
ReplyDeleteGood though. Sana magdevelop din yung aftermarket para in a few years possible to retrofit a longer range battery.
Useless ang pabili sa isang kotse kung walang aftermarket support.
ReplyDeleteThey sold out their entire inventory of VF3's in a span of three weeks in March. Truth be told, there isn't any other competitor in its price range with wheels that large and ground clearance that high.
ReplyDeleteMore affordable than Byd seagull
DeleteI've ridden in the Vinfast taxi and asked the driver how's the car. He said that there were just minor issues that were fixed. He really liked the car. The ride was pleasant as a passenger. I've also ridden in a GWM ev taxi which was pleasant too.
ReplyDeleteI've ridden one too and it felt really cheap. Cheap plastic interiors and closing the door sounds really bad.
