Chinese commercial vehicle brand Foton delivered a strong statement at the Philippine International Motor Show by positioning itself as a pioneering brand in the full-electric commercial vehicle space in the country.
Distributed by UAAGI Auto Group, the move builds on the momentum it has established since 2023 with one of the country’s first electrified commercial vehicles: the Tornado 3.6 EV Light-Duty Truck.
“Our participation in PIMS 2026 reflects Foton’s continued commitment to leading the commercial EV revolution in the Philippines,” said Foton Motor Philippines General Manager Levy Santos. “Beyond offering electric vehicles, we are building a complete ecosystem that enables businesses and fleet operators to confidently transition to electric mobility.”
Today, the Foton Coach EV, a fully electric bus designed to meet the evolving needs of modern transportation operators joins the lineup. The Coach EV is suited for: mass transportation services, private fleet operators, corporate shuttle services, and institutional and government transport requirements.
It also represents the next generation of passenger mobility solutions for the Philippine market. It comfortably sits 33 passengers and drives a distance of 350 kilometers with fast charging of under two hours.
The Foton Coach EV has a battery capacity of 200.54 kWh and delivers 284 horsepower. It’s equipped with a GBT DC charging port for fast and convenient charging. It has an advanced battery cooling system that integrates the air conditioning to cool the underfloor-mounted battery. The battery also has its own fire extinguishing system for added safety. It has a separate luggage bay and features electric steering for fatigue-free long- distance driving, ABS for well-controlled stopping power even in emergency situations, and large 255/70R22.5 tires.
The Foton Coach EV boasts a 2-year or 200,000-kilometer vehicle warranty and an 8-year or 400,000-km electric system warranty.
