Mitsubishi has confirmed some mechanical details of its all-new Pajero for the first time ahead of its world premiere later this year.
After showing off its iconic Triple Multi-Meter Display, Mitsubishi has confirmed that the all-new Pajero will stick to its legendary formula of providing an “authentic off-road capability that enables safe, secure driving across a wide range of weather and road conditions, while also offering a refined, comfortable ride.”
The all-new Pajero adopts a highly robust and durable ladder frame, together with a suspension system engineered to deliver high road-holding performance. This combination provides exceptional off-road capability, even over rough terrain with large bumps and significant impacts. At the same time, it delivers refined on-road comfort by suppressing unwanted body movement and vibration on rough or uneven roads, helping to ease strain over long distances and ensure comfort for everyone on board.
The Pajero will also use Mitsubishi Motors’ Super-All Wheel Control (S-AWC) technology, an integrated vehicle dynamics control system that optimizes handling, off-road capability and stability across diverse driving scenarios.
Basically the next generation of the Montero Sport (made in Thailand, based on new Triton chassis) rather than a continuation of the Pajero. It seems like Mitsubishi decided midway during the Montero Sport's development that they could develop it further, go upmarket, and call it the Pajero instead. I hope the product will have enough substance behind it to use the Pajero name.
